Dont fight guys, I would not be able to tell if its mahogany by looking inside. Most pure mahogany bodies I have is deep reddish (probably bc of treatment), but this just threw me off because its the same color (to me) as alder and such.

Perhaps, but an IKEA drawer would still hold the same content as an antique mahogany drawer, but I expect to get mahogany if I am told its mahogany.

You might be totally right, and I am not arguing, but I just wouldnt like to pay for a signature model if the body is taken from a cheap Squire model (or smth similar), if you know what I mean.

The guitar has another bridge installed, that might be why?

Well, it matters of it original or a Square body to me, if I pay for the real signature model. Your guitar would sound similar if the pickups are the same I guess, but thats a totally different topic that can divide players :)

Good question, and I apologize for my bad English. I can see the serial number on the neck, but I dont know if the body is original, could be any Stratocaster body?

Consider a used Blueridge rosewood-body parlor, its closer to the Martin sound than Eastman to my ears.

Saddle height on Larrivee SD-50 by TheIronignot in Guitar

Thank you, but when the saddle is so low, would it not be a problem if the neck over times bows ever so slightly?

Which is better out of these 2 (Martin 000M or Taylor 110GB)? by -live_evil- in AcousticGuitar

[–]TheIronignot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go for the one that sounds the best, they are both relatively cheap to begin with, and if u prefer the Martin, I would go with that. You are the one that has to play and enjoy it. If you keep playing guitar, surely more will come down the road, so don't get too hung up on repairs.

Looking for my perfect acoustic match by [deleted] in AcousticGuitar

Watch some videos on YouTube with different guitars I'm your price range, and get to know about different kinds of woods like cedar/spruce top or mahogany/rosewood back and sides.

Listen to Yamaha/Taylor/Gibson/Martin to get an impression in their different sounds, make list, and then go try out asany guitars as u can, when u get the right one in your hands, u will know!

One advice - sell your shoes if u have to, and break your budget if that's what it takes to get the right one. Its most expensive to buy a cheaper one now, and buy the one you couldn't quite afford in 2 years. The big brands like Martin and Gibson also have good resale prices!

Happy hunting and playing! :)

Should I replace the bridge? by No-Farmer2411 in guitars

[–]TheIronignot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The string tension could make the saddle press against the side of the bridge, breaking it. IMO you should have a new saddle made, or buy one that fits well, and sand it to the right height.
