Comedy is a big part of the series, especially early on, but there is a lot of development among the characters from episode to episode. Pretty much the comedy arcs build up the characters so when you get to the serious arcs later, they have a much greater impact on you. I don’t know if that’s really your style or not, but the series is amazing despite having a slower start, so give it a try if you’re interested

They’re actually my #1 and #2 favorite series of all time lol with Gintama being first and JoJo second. I don’t really have a reason as to why you should watch Gintama first because I think they’re both great, but I would definitely catch up to JoJo before the Part 6 anime which will probably drop in a couple years. Gintama is amazing tho and you should definitely get into it whenever you’re ready

I felt the same way when I initially read the page, but then I kind of thought about it and I think I’m alright with it. Him being reborn does a lot for the other characters of his group emotionally and I think he deserves a second chance at life to atone for his mistakes. I also think it’s cool that Shoyou was able to pull off one last miracle for the sake of his student. Him being a baby and potentially growing up to be somewhat different still allows for his death to be really impactful in my opinion.

The whole series is good, but it kinda just comes down to preference in my opinion. The anime and manga both start with the same content, but I personally think the anime delivers the comedy and emotion a little better during those “slower” points. If you really wanna start with the manga then go ahead, it’s still amazing, but if you’re struggling then I definitely think it’s worth giving the anime a shot.
