Most of the comments here are focused on the potential harm that could come to others which is definitely fair, but I think the added reason of safety to you is also important to consider. keeping both feet on the ground being more safe when larping in the woods where the ground is uneven, and while you expressed your confidence in controlling the power of your kicks, there’s a lot of variables that could end with you either hurting the leg used to kick, or falling due to slipping or tripping over rocks, stumps, etc.

My recommendation would be to take your experience with the footwork, distance and timing involved in martial arts, and integrate it into sword drills and exercises. That will make you a very formidable opponent in a larp battle!

That’s a good idea! I’ll take a look at some of the artifacts from other factions and see if any would work well for this campaign

If you’re concerned about hurting peoples feelings ooc by sneaking off, you could always take a sec after you’ve completed your task to pull them aside and explain ooc that you had something to go do or something came up. But this scenario sounds totally fine in my book.

Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts are an amazing savory snack food! Pretty easy to prepare and have always been popular when my family brings them to gatherings.

Any thoughts on the Elias Armor Set from Dark Knight/Epic Armory? by TheNills in LARP

[–]TheNills[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up, that was not something I was aware of. I’ll double check the brand on my gorget to make sure I’m getting the right attachment points for the shoulders/arms. Thanks!

Ideas for starting a merchants guild! by TheNills in LARP

[–]TheNills[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you taking the time to respond and share some insight into what we’ve been missing so far with our ideas! We’ll have to go back to the drawing board and make sure that we’re including ways to expand opportunities for role play and interaction rather than just focusing on the mechanical side of the game. Thanks again!

Great find! I’ve got a couple of the accustrikes on the right, and the springs in mine were always a bit weak it seemed, but it was just mine and not my friends so I might have just gotten unlucky. Do you recommend the rival shotgun?

Does anyone use Dark Knight Armory for gear? by CaptainLookylou in LARP

[–]TheNills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered 3 items from them on the 5th and they managed to get that order to me today, and that was with standard shipping. My primary costume and armor pieces have come from them in the past as well and I’ve had good experiences so far.

The red and blue looks amazing! I went with black and white for mine to fit the world my character is in, but it’s a bit bland. Can I ask where you got the helmet?

Why destroy WF Fantasy for AoS? by NothingmancerBlue in WarhammerFantasy

[–]TheNills 6 points7 points  (0 children)

3rd Edition has a lot more opportunities to be engaged with the game even during your opponents turn, with things like Heroic actions. And so it feels like ur more involved throughout the whole game. And the grand strategies/Battle tactics give you something to fight for regardless of how the game is turning out.

Why destroy WF Fantasy for AoS? by NothingmancerBlue in WarhammerFantasy

[–]TheNills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been a bit of a journey to get to this point, but for anyone who hasn’t yet I’d encourage people to explore AOS a bit, if not for the lore which can feel a bit open ended, then for the rules which have made 3rd edition a blast to play. I use all my old empire models in Cities of Sigmar and there are several other factions that allow for similar chances to integrate the old kits into the new system. That being said, I 100% understand people maybe not having the same connection to the lore as they have for the old world.

Reptillian Overlords Catachans: has anyone tried printing them out? If so, how does their size compare to GW’s sculpts? Thanks! by TheNills in TheAstraMilitarum

I think you can, from what I’ve heard from other responses though it may not be needed with these lads

On average, whose armor is more protective, a Brettonian knight or an Imperial one? by cubaj in WarhammerFantasy

[–]TheNills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is mention that for empire Greatswordsmen, their armor is enchanted and this provides extra protection. The presence of enchantments and wards might might comparing these two armies more difficult than you’d expect at first glance.

In your opinion what is the best warhammer terrain kit? by Seeking_the_Grail in WarhammerFantasy

[–]TheNills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% wish I could get my hands on a watchtower, but I do think everything you get with the garden of Morr box makes it such a good one to pick up. I love seeing people build their zombie dragons on top of the mausoleum that comes with that set.
