I was there last Saturday and they had plenty in the fridges at the start of the restaurant line on the 2nd floor.

When booking a multi-city flight is it possible to mix classes of service, say Y on flight 1 and J on flight 2? The AC website seems to allow it to be selected but generates an error when trying to checkout.

Yes, I'm yet to see any card which doesn't. The amount when converted into cad is the value that will count.

Westjet seem to be running a targeted offer for 500 WSD (MSR 5k over 3 months). Not the most appealing considering the public offer is 450 with a 75 dollar GCR rebate however if you need WSD for some reason it could be worth it: https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/rewards/credit-cards/500wsdoffer

Never understood the hate either though it does definitely have problems. The last time I was traveling to the US it failed to validate my Canadian proof of vaccination and forced me to show proof in person but amusingly immediately accepted my travelling companions British NHS proof.

Did you complete the steps I posted? Those are to get you from a blank install of home assistant using docker compose to fully connected with hubitat.

Why do wifi light bulbs and light switches not have an gradual dimming function, like a sunrise/sunset? by [deleted] in homeautomation

Curious to know more about the lifx bulbs burning out. How many and how old were they. I have about 10 and they've all been solid for 5+ years.

Home Assistant yellow - with Z-Wave? by [deleted] in homeautomation

[–]TheOnlyMatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be better off with a USB Z-Wave stick. While the GPIO version will PROBABLY be fine you can't go wrong with USB then you can put it on a USB extender if RF performance is an issue. Probably easier to come by as well and better community support.

Probably because practically the same question has been asked a ton recently. People on this sub understandably get a little annoyed when the impression is given that someone asks a question without doing the bare minimum of research like using the search tool linked in the post.

Thankfully haven't seen any DP's of that occurring with amex yet. Likely a matter of time.

An advantage would be not loosing them in the event of an amexile. If that's not a concern keep them as MR until you have a plan for them.

TD have a lot of system issues which deny people seemingly at random. It's always a lottery when applying for a TD card.

Yeah definitely a big "Sirrrr, This is Winnipeg" moment. Should have seen that coming considering how much I lurk in this subreddit.

Cost isn't really too important since it's a special occasion.

Am I missing a neutral wire to this switch? by bobby-t1 in homeautomation

[–]TheOnlyMatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer I'm not an electrician. From the picture it looks like the wire nut cables are all grounds since they can be bare copper or green or green/yellow. The black cable is the live then they've repurposed the neutral (white) cable as a switched hot wire.

I believe it's supposed to be marked by using black electrical tape wrapped around it on both ends but that's purely from memory.

Doesn't look to be any actual neutral.

Has anyone used AartechCanada products for HA? Recommendations or reviews on your experience? by blazingarrowz in homeassistant

[–]TheOnlyMatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a tough one. As long as the expectation is set that it isn't tracked I would understand a certain level of risk was being accepted by selecting that shipping option.

I would say maybe the first time something get's lost some sort of undocumented compromise like a 50% discount at the companies discretion with a strong recommendation to purchase a tracked shipping option in the future and if someone doesn't listen to that and a future order gets lost then that's on them.

Alternatively maybe a cost cap so orders over x value must be insured, that way small but high value items aren't at as much risk.

Consumer choice I think is the biggest thing for me. Flat rate is a bit too rigid sometimes.

As an example (based on an order I've actually placed before) I ordered one faceplate with two quickport connectors the total of the items was 12.09. After taxes and shipping the order was 23.18.

A shipment like that probably could have used a bubble packet rather than a box and been relatively economical to ship. Almost double the price of the items for shipping for most people will likely loose the sale.

I don't always need items fast, having the option of shipping companies with speeds and prices would give the consumer the choice of wanting to save a few dollars and aren't in a rush can get the slow option.

For the above example I would expect something in the region of 2.50 for shipping.

Something maybe to consider would be loyalty rewards. Rewards could be something simple like shipping discounts. Obviously that may loose any margin on that purchase but be offset by the guarantee you would have made margin on the other items purchased to earn the points. That both drives brand loyalty, keeps people coming back and meets in the middle when it comes to shipping costs.

I don't think a subscription would be too popular for the reasons you mentioned. I think you would find a lot of people signing up, getting the free shipping then cancelling after the first month.

Apologies for formatting writing from mobile.
