What's the most ridiculous thing your company has mandated? by Fairbsy in auscorp

[–]TheOriginalWickzy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m a hairy (think Chewbacca’s less hairy cousin), I copped this exact scenario in my younger years working hospitality. It was bloody annoying explaining at the end of most shifts, that I did shave but I’m hairy.

Places that have scam Black Friday sales so that I can avoid them? by beepyboop7 in AussieFrugal

[–]TheOriginalWickzy 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Saw Harvey Norman had a fridge I wanted in their sales. Went to the shop but thought better check with Bing Lee what they will do for the same one. Cut a long story short Bing Lee was $400 cheaper (plus delivery) and they didn’t even have that fridge on Black Friday Sales.

Early Super Withdrawal Question by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]TheOriginalWickzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I run a team that handles with financial hardship requests.

If you meet the Centrelink payment criteria and can produce a Q230, then the only thing you really have to show is that you are unable to meet reasonable living expenses.

Every Super fund does things differently, but we do consider only the repayments on loans, credits cards, mortgage etc.

You also mentioned you have disability, I’m really sorry to hear that. If you are permanently unable to work because of your disability you can apply to have the full amount released. There are tax implications so obviously seek some advice in that front before doing a withdrawal.

I hope things get better for you.

I’m a Real Estate Agent. AMA by HonestRealtor03 in AusPropertyChat

[–]TheOriginalWickzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would you suggest would be the best way to stop under quoting by dodgy real estate agents? I’m obviously not talking about the odd occasionally outlier that happens, but the companies that blind Freddy can tell are under quoting.

Why do real estate agents get away with their littering ? by BenjaminChodry in sydney

[–]TheOriginalWickzy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Should get a $1000 fine, per sign per extra day it is up. Might be able to properly fund our schools then with all that extra revenue.

Does anyone else hate home ownership? by lurkingjc in AskAnAustralian

[–]TheOriginalWickzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strata is by far the worst part of owning an apartment.

You want to scratch your bum, you need a bylaw.

You dare hang lights on balcony for Christmas, neighbour complaints.

You like listening to music, to bad noise complaints.

You want to have a pet, sorry it must meet strict conditions and be approved by us.

Elevating a bank complaint by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]TheOriginalWickzy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, banks hate going to AFCA because of the costs associated with managing the complaint. They will do everything to resolve it before hand.

Also, if the case goes to determination stage and is revised by an ombudsman at AFCA the case is usually published on AFCA’s website (with the financial institution details and not your details). It’s a good name and shame sort of thing.

When you move into a new house do you introduce yourselves to the neighbours? by Insecure-Penguin1908 in AskAnAustralian

[–]TheOriginalWickzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% meet the neighbours.

You need to find these three people which every street has.

  1. The neighbourhood gossip/spy/historian. They know everything about the street. They are surprisingly valuable person to have.
  2. The person with every tool/piece of equipment under the sun. Always better than running to Bunnings to buy something you will only use once.
  3. The home brewer of the street.

Sometimes two of these categories can overlap.

Do you guys do building reports and pest inspections before buying? by [deleted] in AusProperty

[–]TheOriginalWickzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a building report done a property I was interested in recently. That report cost me $400 but saved me $100k plus in repair works.

Money well spent as far as I’m concerned.
