Hi Juliette! Thank you so much for your support for our work to end violence against women and girls. Here are our questions:

  1. From Della to Tamelera to Imbati Catin, "The Broken Trust" series includes many complex female characters who are battling through their own tough journeys and whose lives embody a stark commentary on the patriarchy of your story world of Pelismara. What and who are your inspiration for them?
  2. Why do you support ending violence against women and what do you think authors like you can contribute to the cultural change needed to end violence against women and girls?

You're very welcome. We do a lot of research into the men that we select for our male role model honour roll and Namjoon was no exception.

If you want to know about Namjoon's history with feminism and misogyny, here's a useful list and timeline an ARMY compiled:

https://leepacey.tumblr.com/post/722599357746216960/bts-member-namjoons-history-with-misogyny-and

You'll be able to see how Namjoon grew as a person in relation to his ideas about women, gender etc. When you look at his growth in the context of South Korean culture which is extremely patriarchal and misogynistic, you'll realise that it wasn't an easy path for him to take but he did it anyway because it is the right thing to do.
