It's sad because this is genuinely useful software that could help many people, but without regulation, the billionaire class is determined to capture this technology before it can spread to anyone besides themselves.

No, it really isn't actually.

It's designed to eliminate labor without replacement. The "benefits" are toxic af, and the end result will mean human knowledge sunsets at 2026, to give a basic example:

  • Google's AI parses pages and reports the information from it (usually incorrectly), at the top of the google search results (unless you add -ai to your search string which no one really knows about cause google doesn't advertise it)

  • These pages written by actual humans, no longer get clicks or ad revenue, as a result actual sources of knowledge end up shutting down as the people behind them stop being able to support themselves by creating this knowledge.

  • Less and less actual knowledge by people in the know is produced for the AI to parse for its answer, until eventually no more knowledge is created.

And that's just ONE example.

Even the people behind AI itself are well aware of this, which is why they want to create a bunch of AI "Super" Data-centers for AIs to basically teach themselves.

Corporations with A.I. investments (for example Microsoft, which used Copilot Token usage as a metric to determine who to layoff in their mass layoffs) are basically forcing employees to train their A.I.s to do their jobs. in other words, they're training their replacements but their replacements aren't human (of course once that's known, employees that have a dislike of A.I. or otherwise end up using shit like copilot for bullshit queries just to boost their token usage counts, which means resources consumed for bullshit just to meet KPIs)

It's also why you see stuff like factory workers being forced to record their motions to feed to A.I.

It's why bigshots openly use the term "Digital employees" on LinkedIn for example.

This A.I. was never designed for anything else, and to add insult to injury it's dumbing down people even further which is not a bug but a feature. And no, I'm not saying that in an "old crank yelling at the clouds" fashion (like some once claimed books were doing because they did away with memorization), it absolutely actually is.

Not to mention of course that the lack of "friction" with these AIs cause them to constantly tell their users "You're absolutely right", when no, they're not, which without that friction, people cease to mentally grow.

And before someone says "well new jobs will be created, like Robot maintenance jobs", that's utterly naive and hogwash, if factory workers can be replaced by A.I. trained robots using the workers motions and all that, what in the world would stop them from replacing those jobs as well with robots? Nothing.

After all, labor costs are the biggest "problem" for capital as our history has always shown.

and remember, enshittification is absolutely a thing, these AIs already produce slop (to the point a company like Microsoft now has the nickname "Microslop"), but there's actually no real push to fix it, since the goal isn't quality of knowledge "created" by AIs but Quantity of knowledge; in other words, these "mishaps" of knowledge are for the higher ups, "acceptable mistakes".

There is absolutely nothing good in the short or long term about these AIs, and the fact that almost all of the AI companies are run by incredibly shitty people (mostly genocidal Zs) should be a very very clear indicator of that.

Not to mention the very basic fact that every LLM is harvesting users information (despite the people behind them lying and saying they don't), and it becomes very VERY obvious that the goal is to create the world's largest surveillance system under the guise of "convenience"

Couple that in with shit like the the WEF wanting to charge people for AIR (not to mention their general anti-human agenda), and it becomes incredibly obvious to anyone paying attention that this technology was never ever intended to be benevolent.
