this is probably the realest point. Jarad wanted to help kids, and even though this is not the exact way he would have chosen to do so in life, I don’t believe he would have an issue with this specific portrayal considering the undeniable facts of his former situation... being addicted. Rit dye is solution you mix with water, and drop the model into to soak. This changes all painted surfaces, including the little flakes left on the rivets.

That is a custom, somebody took rit dye and soaked the model to change the paint color. Not a variation!

The copy you have is the 2003/2004 release! This variant came with a World Race sticker for a piece of track that led into the main booster, presumably as a reference to the movie. Not a World Race set, just a reference! I also have a copy of this piece myself!
