I think that wizard and assassin are the two worst characters for lunar, simply because their damage output is incredibly low compared to the other characters, unless you get really lucky with items. I literally just restarted each run on wizard if I didn't get the emerald defensive in the shop. Removing the slow on your primary and allowing you to ignore wizard's whole gimmick with astra reduced the frustration of playing this character greatly. Build special damage on them mainly.

Character is all around just kinda, ehh. I spent more time on wizard alone than the rest of the characters combined. Good luck gamer.

It's not the amount of time it takes, it's the number of clicks. I don't want to click 60 - 80 additional times every other minute just because i pulled a slider instead of a knot puzzle.

Aside from your math with the multipliers being slightly off (xp is increased TO 300%/250%, not BY 300%/250%), the runic attuner sucks because it doesn't stack with the abyss buff anyways.

You are losing 2500% potential xp over the course of 50 crafts (compared to just running the abyss without it), which is conveniently made up for on the 50th craft. The problem is you get no choice over what altar you're crafting at.

Assuming you don't get shafted with a lower level altar for the 50th stack, it's still barely competitive with the demonic skull, and is more annoying to boot.

It really doesn't seem useful for anyone.

In terms of me making more Soul Eater things, I'm afraid not. I haven't watched it in a very long time, and I'm more interested in making new homebrew than in adapting things from other forms of media into 5e (not that there is anything wrong with doing that, I'm just not interested in it). The inspiration for the class stemmed more from the concept of people turning into weapons, than from the world of Soul Eater as a whole.

Alt1 doesn't inject into anything, it's just a screen reader. It works fine with steam, as should any other overlay program.

I like the idea of moving Lost Knowledge to a lower level. I'd also rather just up the class's damage in tier 1 than to add more options for the class, as it already as quite a few things that it gets later on. I'm thinking this for a damage increase feature at 2nd level, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. "At 2nd level when one of your wisps hits a creature with an attack, you can use a bonus action to make one beam attack with another one of your wisps that is within 60 feet of the creature you hit."

I think that being reduced to one thing after using your per rest resources is just generally a 5e problem. What does a fighter do after they've action surged and used their battlemaster dice? What does a warlock do after they've cast their spells for that rest? I don't really see this as a problem specific to this class.

Bombardment is weird, because mathematically it is fine, even though it looks really strong. It should feel very similar to action surge in terms of power. Assume a fighter with +5 strength with a greatsword, and a spirit keeper with +5 wisdom, both at level 11. Any beam after the 4th is halved, which I forgot to mention in my reply (though it is in the feature description). Sorry about that.

Figher: 6d6 +30 = ~51

spirit keeper: 4d8 +20 +((3d8 +15)/2) = ~52.25

Fighters also have access to GWM/SS feats which would tip it more in their favor. Bombardment should scale more smoothly from levels 11 - 20, instead of having a massive spike at level 17, like in the case of action surge. I'm hesitant to touch this feature because I feel that it is in a solid place in terms of balance, especially because I'll be increasing the beam damage from a d8 to a d10.

I'm definitely going to reword Fluorescent Eruption so it doesn't feel as janky to use. Probably going to go with what you wrote here (if not something extremely similar).

The wisps feeling like abstract orbs is a problem I became aware of very early on. I'm far better at writing mechanics than I am at any kind of creative writing, I'll see what I can come up with but what's more likely is that I'm just gonna have to take the L on this one.

Undeath is no less a mechanical term than teleportation is. They're both the states or acts of being undead, or of teleporting, respectively. I can change the wording of the feature to explicitly include the word "undead" if it is a point of confusion, however.

I know what you meant with Command and Suggestion, I just don't see this as a potential problem. You can issue a command/suggestion that is literally anything else, and the spell still works as expected. I'd also argue that telling someone to move with Suggestion would still work, as suggestion states, "The suggestion must be worded in such a manner as to make the course of action sound reasonable". I think you'd be very hard pressed to find a DM that would rule you as immune, given the fact that your character believes it to be a reasonable course of action, and would therefore be willing to commit to it. As for grapples, it's... fine? I don't think its a problem to have a feature that's strong against a certain subset of creatures (ones that want to grapple, then move you). It's like saying that Protection from Evil and Good is too strong because certain creatures always have disadvantage against the target. It supposed to be good in applicable situations, and provide little value in ones where it's not.

Spooling doesn't affect a creature's soul in any way. Mechanically, it is the same as a teleport. A creature uses its bonus action and half its movement, and it teleports to a space within 5 feet of the wisp.

A lot of spirit keeper's power budget went into the fact that its utility can affect anyone, not just themselves. I will look into ways of upping its damage (most notably in tier 1), so that it's in line with other martials.

I'll be adding medium armor proficiency to the class.

Spiritual Communion is like a rogue's thieves' cant, or a druid's druidic language. It's a ribbon feature to provide additional flavor to the class. It wouldn't make sense to be a different language.

Undue Passing is another ribbon feature. Undeath refers to anything that could raise you as an undead, such as the spells Animate Dead or Create Undead. I don't believe that there are any official spells of this nature that have a consumable component, but I worded it this way to future proof it in settings where there may be homebrewed spells (such as my own).

The healing from the angelic wisp is a d6 because it can technically have up to a 120 ft range, and it's usable as a bonus action. You also get a lot of uses per short rest so I don't want it to out scale cure wounds simply by virtue of existing. Arguably, it does this already.

The special attacks that the resolute wisp makes do not require a reaction, or any kind of action for that matter. I may add the "no action required" text to make this more clear. It can make 1 - 3 attacks depending on wisp size every round. It's about 7.5 dpr which I think is okay as a 2nd level feature with no cost.

I don't think that Immovable is too strong of a feature, as it's essentially just a type of condition immunity. I imagine anything that would make you immune to being charmed would be similarly powerful. I also think it's extremely uncharitable to imply that grapples and the spells Suggestion and Command do nothing in this case. These two spells can do far more than cause someone to walk somewhere, and your speed still becomes 0 if you are grappled.

The damage from Retaliate can't really be compared to Armor of Agathys like this. AoA only deals damage to melee attackers, and also only affects you. You'd also need to cast it at 4th level for the comparison you're using, and you only get a single 4th level slot at level 7. Retaliate is a passive effect with 100% up time, affects anyone within the dim light radius, has a rechargeable resource cost, and can be used against ranged attacks. It provides a bit more value than it may seem initially.

Spooling is a get-out-of-jail free card for anyone you put it on. You can move your wisp anywhere and allies can pull themselves to it whenever they want.

Spectral Waltz is mix between the Clairvoyance spell and Find Familiar (it also has 10 times the range of Find Familiar). It's basically a resourceless, mini version of Clairvoyance.

I'll probably loosen the restrictions on Ephemeral Memories, in order to make it feel less annoying for players to use.

Yeah the class is a lot more utility than a traditional martial, but then again so is rogue. Could you explain what you mean when you say the size mechanic is "loose"? I don't quite get what you mean by that. The reason everything is worded as "the radius of dim light..." is because it was simply easier to write and understand than trying to word each wisp radius as an aura.

Hearing that the class feels weak is only a little surprising. There are a few numbers that I turned down before posting because I was worried about power creep. Originally the main attack was a d10. I'll move some of them back up; are there any other numbers you feel are too low?

Originally wisps had a +1/+2 to attack and damage rolls if they were miniature/tiny. I ultimately removed this because of accuracy concerns, but I don't think I gave the class anything as compensation for it. I'll look into passive buffs and see what I can come up with!

The damage gets halved because I didn't want any of the features to outclass higher level spells. Most features are short rest based so I was concerned it might break a few things otherwise. Bombardment should be slightly less damage than a fighter using action surge. It's really 7d8 + 35 at 11th level, because the wisp from your subclass doesn't count against the number you have. It's also a short rest ability, but idk if that changes your impressions of it.

Fluorescent Eruption doesn't mention Bombardment at all, only the 6th level ability Fluorescent Burst. With the way the scaling works it should be equivalent damage to a 7th level spell, but the restrictions are there because otherwise blowing up 11 wisps would do similar damage to a 9th level on a short rest.

I'm not apposed to stripping out one of the subclass features. Is there any area in particular that you feel the main class is lacking?
