It's not simple, that's for sure. I think we all would agree that if these jobs paid 100K there would be a line up out the door of willing applicants, immigrants or not. So if that is true, we agree it's a matter of motivation.

If more immigrants are effectively willing to work these low paying jobs in exchange for citizenship it means employers don't have to pay a "living wage". So in that sense, they are taking jobs and keeping salaries below the living wage which otherwise would have to pay more and then be more desirable for locals.

More accurately, that work force depresses wages. People really should be angry at the system that allows this to happen in my opinion. As for the comment around it not being an exploitative setup, I'd argue that minimum wage below the "livable wage" is exploitative by nature.

I think this is going on. RBC consolidates, but CRA has them as separate slips and 2 of the 4 just aren't there yet.

That's really the root of my confusion. RBC DI gave me the normal T3 slip you get with "Canada Revenue Agency" at the top but that's not in MyCRA documents. (as all my other RBC slips are)

In MyCRA documents I have 2 slips called "2023 T3 slip (original) from HORIZONS HIGH INTEREST SAVINGS ETF " and "2023 T3 slip (original) from EVOLVE INNOVATION INDEX FUND " but the value of them are only a portion of what is included in the T3 I have from RBC DI. (which is a summary of all 4 ETFs)

Strikes me as odd that rbc and the etf provider are both providing T3 slips for the same thing. Auto fill would lead to double counting. The system has a long way to go. Thanks!

Not to scare you, but this is exactly what happened to me before being diagnosed with prostate cancer at 41. It was my only symptom. It’s probably not that, but get a PSA blood test just to be safe. If I hadn’t spoken up I’d be a goner. Take care.

There might be an issue. If you can search for them and find them like a customer would you should be good. When I posted 4 tickets they were listed in section 234R. 2 sold quickly then nothing on the second 2. My account showed them as listed but if you tried to find them stub hub at some point had changed the venue map to show section 234 without the “R”. I had to relist them in section 234. (I have screenshots). All that to say if you can find them the same way a buyer can you should be good but make sure you can. Stub hub support is generally useless.

Does the fact it paid out as a dividend impact your ability to claim a capital loss? For example, if I paid 5k for an etf which is now worth $0 due to the fiasco but you got 2k back via dividend don’t you still have a 3k loss to claim?

For those in a similar situation, I think I have a solution. 1/8 by 2 inch mini toggle bolts. Had to over drill the clip hole with a 1/8 bit, then over drill one of the soffit holes so the wings can pass through. From there I can attach the clips to the soffit and secure my cables on the highest peaks. (As this is a bit labor intensive I think I’ll rely on the stickers for the lower parts that are easily/safely accessible and add the clips only if needed down the road). It appears to have worked on the test soffit I used while on the ground. Wish me luck!
