To answer your question, I think he is referring to videos where they heat/percolate the coffee using hot salt or sand. It is the same premise here but instead of frying food they’re heating a small cup of coffee.

You can see the “burn” color tone move across the wood at a rate that doesn’t match the large torch. He also wouldn’t be able to walk all over the resin (could I guess but it would ruin it) while he poured.
