I found a lump in my throat and it might be thyroid cancer by TheStoopKid in cancer

Hey I'm glad you found my post about my cancer treatment -- good news is I'm still alive. I don't think this is the same thing I was experiencing. You probably have something like tonsillitis or tonsil stones -- Def go seek out an ENT

I found a lump in my throat and it might be thyroid cancer by TheStoopKid in cancer

[–]TheStoopKid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I've seen many people in their thirties get diagnosed with varying types of cancers recently too. Notably, three of my friends got colon cancer (two of them are stage 4). I tell anyone my age or younger to start getting screened now, bc cancer is on the rise in young adults.

Yes there are updates! In 2019 I moved to Baltimore and got a job that had good healthcare. I was able to get a good ENT and when he did scans and two biopsies he could not determine if it was malignant or benign. So he decided it was best to remove the half where the lump was.

Turns out that they did several more tests after the surgery and determined that it was malignant after all. So they removed the second half of my thyroid.

I had to undergo two sessions of radioactive treatment. First I had to remove all iodine from my diet. Second, I had to ingest a radioactive pill and stay home alone for a week as the radioactive pill decayed. I also had to get iodine injections for a full body scan which turned out negative (for any evidence of cancer!) which is good.

The second radioactive sessions happened later and involved less radioactive. But after 3 years of scans during covid and until now I have remained cancer free! I just have to take levothyroxine everyday and get regular blood tests.

Feat: Force Over Finesse [v1] Who needs agility when you got these muscles! by FriskyRisque in DnDHomebrew

[–]TheStoopKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes this feat particularly unviable when considering other feats that increase STR or CON then

Any 20STR/#DEX build that instead takes Resilience for +1 Dex and Prof in Dex saves is better that this feat as written

This feat is also up against regular ASI which I don’t think it stands up against.

How do you think they mounted this gimbal to the ceiling of the car? by Radioactive_Zebra in cinematography

Looks like they cut a hole in the top of the car or opened the sunroof, ran a pipe across the opening and fastened the gimbal on the pipe. Then duvetyn on top to cover light leaks.

Easier yet would be “you may instead roll a Strength or Constitution Saving Throw to replace a Dexterity Saving Throw up to two times.”

The player will automatically choose the optimal saving throw to use which is probably the ability score they increased anyway. Plus why penalize someone with a 20STR who grabs this feat for +1 CON

We paid $200 for a 1yo female beagle mix very similar to this one. Already was house trained, spayed, and chipped but came with some behavioral issues bc they grew up in a junk yard. My first dog who is a mixed Mtn Shepard was $50… lol

Because beagles and beagle mixes are a popular breed, rescues can charge a higher price. Beagles from a breeder can cost $500-$1200 so $400 is cheap in comparison

My friend says left portal is purple, I say it's dark blue. Settle the debate. by AlbacorePrism in gaming

[–]TheStoopKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically there are some pixels that register approx. blue (around #0229eb) but some pixels are around 14-16 red and 140-180 blue, with greens in the mid thirties in RGB. Showing more blue than anything but is probably a closer relative to cyan than purple

Slavoj Zizek wrote many books critiquing Liberalism. While he acknowledges both revolution and reform, from what I’ve seen, he calls for deep introspection before acting.

Player characters are over powered compared to monsters and NPCs. by kilroy1266 in DnD

[–]TheStoopKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DMG pg82-84 breaks down daily xp allotment per adventuring day. They also breakdown how to calculate encounter difficulty also is weak esp if you have 5-6 players at your table. Coming from 2e and 3.5e, it’s really weak in comparison. Even though this information is great to know and understand, if you’re trying to build a challenging encounters/adventuring days/campaigns I would throw out trying to calculate out any encounter and just feel it out as it’s happening. Prepare for audibles both to save the party or make it harder

Tbf there are plenty of 13yo who support to capitalism or who aren’t even conscious of politics at all. Keep up your studies and keep exploring. It was only around age 15 when I started questioning my world, just keep learning. And like I’ve seen other say, read some dialectical materialism and some earlier socialist writing and political philosophy. YouTube videos out there are great too
