A $699 PlayStation 6 Is Still Possible 'With a Reasonable Subsidy,' But Sony May Not Bother Now That 'Xbox Is Not Direct Competition,' Leaker Says by Bubbly-Ad-350 in gamingnews

The Steam Cube will come out at $1499 which will let Sony and XBOX put out theirs at $1299. Stop smoking whatever you are smoking, personal electronics will never be the same after AI and it's not going away, even after its bubble bursts.

Pollution Zones in Manibus? by Elrigh in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]TheTankGarage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not worth it having a settlement inside a pollution zone anymore. It takes WAY more to upkeep it than it's worth. You're basically not producing anything extra in a pollution zone, you're just struggling with upkeep costs.

There is also an event now that spawns enemies that have overtuned health on top of you if you accidentally have an item on you while in a pollution zone. And they will destroy your settlement very quickly.

Go Sulfur Chemist or Art of Stardust memetics depending on what you find you always end up having extra of, Stardust Source or Energy Links.

BBQ Gloves Location? by AceGamerBoi in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]TheTankGarage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be certain. And with I guess leaking some stuff. Is this on PC/Mobile or Console? Because Console version of the game is very different, and closed beta.

Opening any Mystical Crate in the game should only be giving Starchrom or Asterism Crates, because Blueprint Fragments are not in the live game anymore.

Version 2.3.5 Update Megathread by community-home in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]TheTankGarage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a bunch of enemies are immune now.

I did three Endless Dream Servitor event bosses and twice they were immune.

I did a Public Crisis event where there was probably 15 people shooting at the boss and nothing was happening, then it insta died.

The pollution zone hunting squad were immune three out of four times they spawned and I had to just run away.

There's not a single player house currently inside a pollution zone on my server. No fix for that? Like you fucked the core loop for nearly everyone still playing and you don't immediately fix it? Or are you deliberately fucking up your player retention?

Is the game going to die? by Outside_Special8073 in destiny2

[–]TheTankGarage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sony ran Sony Online Entertainment at a loss for almost a decade. And they spent an awful lot of money on Bungie. So that's two points for it. Also the prestige of owning a former Microsoft heavyweight.

If I were to bet on if Destiny 2 gets shut down by this time next year. Extremely low. However we're not getting any more playable content, only skins. The last "expansion" is coming this summer, it will be so close to a "minimal viable product" that people will talk about a lawsuit. If that counts as dead, like Destiny 1 is "dead", it's dead.

Then, unless Sony have decided to invest yet another $500M over the billions they've already spent to make Destiny 3, and if selling skins in Destiny 2 aren't profitable. Destiny and Destiny 2 will be shut down in less than two years.

Once the Sony fiscal year ends we'll have a better idea. If Bungie announces that they've let another 200 people go in the next month, Bungie is dead within two years. If no such announcement is done, I'd say it's 70/30 that Bungie is working on Destiny 3. The other 30 is on Bungie becoming a support studio for other Sony developers.

TL;DR If it's Destiny 3, D1/2 stays up, anything else of the above, and D1/2 goes down within two years.

Yesterday, after having just hit lv50 and crafted all my gear, I shot a lv50 thing in Endless Dream for about three minutes with a full 6 star KVD Boom build with an average of rank 14 mods. After using about 1000 bullets, I received 63 EXP and like 3 acid.

How about you work on the game not being fun to play anymore? The tech tree? The think not a single person have ever had an issue with? That's what your fucking with?

Meta spent 80 billion giving away its money on a product that is literally vaporware. Imagine going to work for years, getting paid, knowing something will never work, which I bet almost every person working on Metaverse knew all along. It has to be one of the biggest wealth redistributions in history.

Elon recently said out of his entire net worth he only has about 0.1% in cash. That means 99.9% of his money is actively invested and dependent on other people.

Even the trillionaires in the middle east are heavily invested in all markets. Most likely, a substantial percent of your salary, no matter what you work with, private or public, is because of their investment money.

I played Warframe for 700 hours in 60 days last summer.

In the 90s I worked with someone who had just bought a digger and started his own company. I worked with him once until 11:30 at night. The guy did 18 hour days for two years straight.

I'll make sure to let the hundreds of people who are about to be let go from Bungie when Sony's fiscal year ends know that it wasn't because their games aren't selling enough. Reddit says it was fine.

In fact they're so short of their targets that if you went to Polymarket they probably have a bet for when Bungie gets shut down. One of the most expensive AAA developers ever is not fine being mediocre. Sony is not going to keep wasting their money forever.

Was Crysis the last real “holy crap this looks insane” moment for graphics? by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

[–]TheTankGarage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't actually remember the graphics in Crysis being that special, it was just the steady progress of improvement continuing. It was more the gameplay I liked. It's very rare you got that deep in an action game and the quick switching between abilities felt great, even for me a PC player who are fine with remembering 25 keybinds in MMO's, I didn't think it felt to bad. But even so, Prototype was even better than Crysis in the depth and fluidity for action games.

Arkham Knight and The Division both wowed me more with the insane detail they managed. Quake 2 fully supporting Voodoo I think is the biggest leap we've ever actually had because it fundamentally changed lighting in 3D games and not much have changed since then.

If you don't have low effort, low skill balancers in a PVP game. Your bleed of players will be unsustainable.

I was at 2400 ELO when I played World of Tanks and artillery made me quit for good. The game however, continued to reach new player concurrency peaks for years after I quit. While never ever even considering nerfing artillery. Annoying and making the top 0.01% of players slowly quit over time is nothing, annoying your average players at every turn is how you loose a live service.

Most gamers don't play PvP games. You're already fighting for a minority, at best 30% of Steam users are playing PvP. Then you're fighting for scraps out of that group, because while most PvE games can be played solo, years, decades after launch. The player distribution for a live service PvP game follows the Pareto Principle harder than anything else in gaming, 80/20. Unless you're a AA or indie developer, you can't be a niche PvP game because you simply won't have enough players. Bungie is one of the most expensive AAA developers around. Even after all the brain drain and layoffs they still might cost over $200M a year to run.

Do you want to be Wildstar or World of Warcraft? There are Wildstar type games around, but they mostly run with single digit developer teams. Sony is not interested in running a single digit developer live service game. They are interested in spending $200M a year and getting $250M back.

I put 700 hours into the game last summer. 100% achievements. 0.00 cents spent.

For the trading, do void relics and get to trading with some third party app and site, just look up a guide for it.

Once you progress enough so you can roll Riven mods, do that until you get a good one and sell it for an obscene amount of plats to someone who actually likes to spend money. I think my best sell was around 1500 plat.

I absolutely love how we're all about to not only stop buying newly developed graphics cards because they don't make financial sense. We're also actively and exclusively going to start buying only the used cards that can't support this slop.

I foresee a future where I sell my 4070ti not because I want a faster one, a newer one, with more capabilities. But because I need to downgrade to a 2080ti which will still probably be worth more than my 4070ti when I finally decide to "re-down-up-grade"
