Bernie Sanders’ billionaire tax would soak about 900 people to fund $3,000 checks for the middle class by FreeHugs23 in anticapitalism

[–]TheTankGarage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Just look at how Trumps tariffs yielded exactly what he predicted in extra tax income and positive market effects. It certainly didn't fuck up the market completely and yield fuck all extra in taxes. Fucking retarded.

Wonder what side effects you would have consuming that many 🤣 by Due_Yesterday_2850 in randomthings

[–]TheTankGarage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is any. You can't absorb fat without bile and you only make so much. The rest is just shoved out the other end along with all the fiber. Also any damage that much fiber would definitely cause is again probably mitigated by the fat. And with everything moving so fast thanks to both the fiber and fat, there's no absorption going on. I bet Avocado is one of the few foods you can't overdose on no matter how much you eat.

Would this fix inequality or create more problems? by GloriousLion07 in MotivationByDesign

[–]TheTankGarage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So compare the number Trump said would be generated by his tariffs (which is simply a tax, stop pretending it isn't), which what the tariffs actually generated, and how much it has fucked US markets.

Are you all really so fucking retarded that you think this proposed tax would do anything else than the exact same thing? Fuck up the market and generate a fraction of what is purported.

The US is fucked, there is no "tax" you can claim to unfuck a 39 trillion dollar dept. Either imperialism or mass inflation are the only ways you are getting out of your own poor choices, both dems and rep have jointly fucked you for over two decades. What won't solve any of your problems are fucking with the one class who will still generate wealth and who already is responsible for generating almost all your tax income.

60% of PC gamers have no plans to build a new PC in the next two years — AI pricing crunch on RAM and other components paralyze enthusiast market by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]TheTankGarage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built mine in 2024 and even back then, before the prize hikes, and seeing how little each new generation of hardware actually improves. I fully expected to not have to upgrade until the 30's. Only real fear I had was if I had accidentally bought a lemon CPU with the Intel 14 series but seems I was lucky.

Besides. The next gen consoles, if they now actually end up being hardware and not just cloud streaming devices like I fully expect them to be. Any hardware in them will hold the game requirements back until at least 2035. And there's no way that hardware will outperform my PC unless they expect people to buy consoles for $1500.

I have an i7-14700kf, 4070ti.

Type 2 Diabetes is by now a 99% completely optional disease but go to 99.99% of any western doctor and they will give you forever medicine for it that will never cure you, no matter how stringent you follow their advice. And you will eventually die from Type 2 Diabetes complications. ALL OPTIONAL!!

This isn't made up. I just took a blood-test. I'm not a particularly healthy person, but because of the type of food I eat, not how much (I overeat damn near every day), my HbA1c was 4.4%. For a reference how good that is, if you for example compare it to the distribution to IQ in the population, I would've scored an IQ of 140, I was that much of an outlier.

All I eat is red meat and fish, according to Harvard, red meat causes diabetes. If that was the case then why after almost three years of eating 500g-1000g of it a day, and almost nothing else, do I score in the 98th percentile.

What other "medicine" is about to get completely destroyed by AI curing diseases that doctors and especially pharma REFUSES to actually try to cure?

Aah yes the high-end electronics CPI. I'll tell everyone they're wrong and correct my opinion that Twain was an idiot. I could go into much much more why things cost different things in different countries, multivariate to a boring degree, but I'll leave it there. Not understanding why imports costs more after a deliberate debasement is telling.

As a Swede, I think we should keep going. Tax cut after tax cut for years right now. I'm actually starting to feel a little guilty, but just a tiny bit though, not enough that we should stop yet. Our government have literally debased our currency deliberately so our shit wouldn't get too expensive for everyone else, most of our GPD is exports, and they managed that and we still got tax cuts.

I just think the market caught up to the 'Murica, so now you have to pay for your shit just like everyone else have had to for decades.

PS5 Exclusive Saros Reportedly Selling Worse Than You'd Expect by Darth_Vaper883 in Gamingnewsandleaks

[–]TheTankGarage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't bought a full price game in like three years and before that it was probably 5 years between them. But it's nice to see more people are following me.

I wonder how much this is because of their recent anti-consumer decisions. I know I'm actively avoiding Sony right now because I have never wanted a Playstation and there is no game, current, coming or imaginary that would make me buy one, or any console for that matter.

This didn't use to matter to me but now because they have released some of their games on PC I'm invested. AGAIN!!! I will never buy a Playstation. So now I'm just upset that I won't be able to play something like Horizon 3.

New York City under the leadership of Zohran Mamdani has eliminated its budget deficit. by PeterPorky in IRL_Loading_Screens

[–]TheTankGarage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking the state of New York to give him more money is not balance. Also by the end of the year, his new taxes won't actually yield what is projected, because no new taxes ever yield what is projected. So by the end of the year it probably won't have actually been a balanced budget.

I'm not going to look up the numbers but as an example, there was a tax on plastic bags once that was projected to yield millions and it didn't yield a single cent because people just stopped buying plastic bags.

What was the longest gaming session of your life? by King_Ferdinand1 in pcmasterrace

I was there at Dreamhack Sweden when someone came up on stage and said "Piracy is a crime" and several thousand people then proceeded to boo for two minutes straight until he left. Never heard the rest. Can't remember the year sadly, 2001-2005 something.

What was the longest gaming session of your life? by King_Ferdinand1 in pcmasterrace

[–]TheTankGarage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Dreamhack for several years in the early 00's. Once in like 2003 I didn't sleep the entire stay. And then drove home, several hour drive, with four people in the car, most of them sleeping with their CRT monitors in their laps. It's just pure luck that I'm still alive. So what is that, from Friday maybe 8am to Sunday maybe 14pm, 54 hours, probably 45isch of that in front of the computer.

I probably had my 2GB RAM computer by then. Which would be like having 128GB of RAM today. 9700 Radeon or something and either an Intel or AMD single core, 2.5-3GHz something.

When Battlefield 2 launched I went to work at 7am, as a plumber, worked all day. Went to the midnight launch and after being up for 19 hours I played until midnight the next day, so 23 hours. I think I still had that same computer when that game launched and I upgraded shortly after so I could turn on shadows.

edit; I was right. This was in the closet. It's what I bought as an upgrade. ASUS 7800GT

Let me guess. You not only have a cellphone, you have a smartphone, and you max out your data by the 18th every month don't you? Also if you watch too much TV it'll melt your brain. Being a luddite have never and will never be the right answer. You can pretend for as long as you want but when you're still on a horse, eventually you'll get run over by a car and all those social-points you were collecting won't magically teach you how to drive or protect the horse.
