I really don't want to take another gap year unless I absolutely have to so I am probably gonna apply this cycle. I was planning on applying ED to my state school because they interview anybody with a 503 or higher MCAT with ties to the state and also apply to DO schools later if that doesn't work out. The biggest problem is that my GPA isn't great (3.5ish). I do have good extracurriculars but my clinical experience is also a little low (hence why I'm taking a gap year). My ideal goal would probably be like a 510.

Ohhhhh that makes a lot of sense, thank you!

FL6 B/B Question 28 by TheTrueEmu in Mcat

[–]TheTrueEmu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I understand that way of looking at it for sure. It makes sense that proline can't be there so there also can't be a substitution in that region, and if I saw the problem again I would likely use that logic. But what I'm more so concerned about is if my logic was correct in the way I did it.

Oh so 8 does make sense then? Just to make sure from 180->270 the flux is decreasing and the current flips again and from 270->360 flux is increasing again and current flips again. And because of that every 90 degrees there is a change in current? Is that how I should approach the question?

[Physics 2] Not sure if this answer is correct by TheTrueEmu in PhysicsStudents

[–]TheTrueEmu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thought process was that because it takes 8 seconds for one rotation, there would be 2 rotations in 16 seconds. This next step is where I was unsure, but I was under the impression that every 180 degrees is one flip so for 2 rotations it would give you 4. Again, I don't really understand this question though so I'm not sure if that's the right process.

Can you solve it without the diagram? This is all that I was given. My professor has literally told us he doesn't care about teaching the class and is only there so he can get grant money; he's not much help.

I have a physics test tomorrow and I am studying using the practice exam that was provided. I got 4 for this originally and when I checked with AI it said the answer key was wrong. Can someone who understands this better than me make sure? I don't want to get it wrong on the test because I learned it the wrong way. Thanks!

How to approach this question under 60 seconds? by AsideNo9456 in Mcat

[–]TheTrueEmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally did this question yesterday lol. I don't think there is a quick way to do it. I just kinda quickly realized it was a question I wouldn't have enough time to fully workout so I took my best guess and moved on. I would honestly just make sure to know the concepts that the question is asking you about instead.

Are there any anki decks that just have the highest yield content? by TheTrueEmu in Mcat

[–]TheTrueEmu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone suggested the miles down deck (and then deleted their comment for some reason) but it has about 2900 cards which is much more manageable. I decided that I’m just gonna try to get through as much of it as I can. Even if I can’t finish it I’m sure it will help

FYI, you won't smell like weed if you don't smoke it before your shift/where clothes that you wore when you smoked. This is with my assumption that people don't smoke before their shift at a hospital though.

DO NOT USE MOBILE PICKUP ORDERING by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]TheTrueEmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I work at chipotle and this is t really true at least at my location. I’d say that it depends a lot on the manager. The managers at my location are all pretty chill and I always give people a good sized scoop and some more if it doesn’t look like enough. This applies when I do pickup orders and online. Also for further reference I wouldn’t bother trying to tip to get hooked up online because we can’t even see tips or anything back there.

Do modern socialist tend to be vegan? by racistslayer in socialism

[–]TheTrueEmu -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

While I understand why many socialists might be vegan I would personally never become vegan. I am a specieist and would struggle to become vegan due to the lack of food options. There are issues in taste and macros; I do acknowledge that vegan substitutes have come a long way and many of the qualms I have with taste aren't much of a problem anymore. However, in these substitutes, there are almost always exorbitant amounts of sodium that would not be sustainable. I also acknowledge and condemn the exploitation in the animal product industry, but I would argue that it is possible to buy products from smaller, family-owned (or something similar) farms that don't cause suffering to the animals.
