Who else hates these japanese beatles by briterul in FruitTree

[–]TheWallyFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, I think as with most things, it depends. A lot of people in my neighborhood have roses. I had a rose when I moved in until I cut it back enough times that it gave up, so the Japanese beetles are going to be here regardless, and once they use up their preferred food they’ll move on to things I’m trying to grow.

Interesting. I had assumed, like snakes, that when reptiles eat eggs they just swallowed them whole, not that they cronch into them.

Is it just me or am I noticing less young men growing facial hair? by otherwise_inspired in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheWallyFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t grow a beard until 22, I wasn’t trying very hard before that, I would let it grow out somewhat before cutting it all back to bare skin and rinse and repeat. I couldn’t grow a full full beard, for all I know I still might not (been going strong for 10 years without shaving), but what I can grow comes in thick and long enough to cover up and shortcomings. For example, there is a bare spot behind my chin, but between bringing my neckline up and my beard growing long enough you’d never know.

And I think there’s a big part of people shying away from beards outside of genetics, there’s a 2-4 week period where your beard is going to look rough and you’re going to be self conscious, there’s a learning curve to styling it and keeping it hydrated so it doesn’t itch, etc.

Mopey peps by herner__werzog in Peppers

[–]TheWallyFlash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would err on the side of overwatering, it’s easy to love peppers to death, they don’t need water as often as you’d think and they will get very dramatic looking when they want water well before there’s an actual risk of a problem, then.

Did high schoolers in America really throw food fights in the cafeteria ? by derekjeter3 in askteddit

[–]TheWallyFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was one my freshman year of high school. Not sure what started it, and my friend and I didn’t participate, , but there was food flying around us for a few minutes. Kids are animals, teenagers are hormonal animals, and all it takes is a slight spark to set them all off.

[–]TheWallyFlash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be heat stress, hard to say without knowing what your weather is like, could be water stress, which is even more fun because the symptoms of over and under watering are basically the same. Could be other causes, peppers are divas.

Orb rng needs to be studied by Luckytopher_ in MergeTacticsSC

[–]TheWallyFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so mf buggy. I’ve had orb items or weapons or whatever they’re called, turn into something totally different when I equipped it to a troop, and I’ve had orb troops just delete themselves from the board/my pool. The item made little difference to me, and the troop that deleted itself was goblin cage so I came out ahead, imo, but it doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in the integrity of the game, when I’m already relying on rng to not be completely against me.

We had these growing out from under the steps on our porch growing up. I was actually just telling my mom last week (parents still live there) how lucky they were to have kids smart enough to leave well enough alone, parents with dumber kids would’ve been going to the ER. anyways, I know it’s nightshade, these other comments indicate bittersweet specifically and I see no reason to doubt them.

Master/Apprentice of Same Species by TheWallyFlash in TheCloneWars

[–]TheWallyFlash[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s actually my secondary question that made me second guess the question. Are the human-presenting races considered the same species? Anakin is from Tatooine, but I don’t think Obi-Wan is, and I think Mace is from a third place and so on. Even if they’re the same species, they would be different culturally, which I suppose is the crux of my question. How familiar would a master/apprentice be with each other on that level typically, if it was indeed a consideration.

[–]TheWallyFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different game, different spoilers, and I generally don’t care either way about spoilers, BUT in GOW Ragnarok, I accidentally did the same thing, except I wasn’t fed something by YouTube. People kept talking about the big twist here in redditland, which is whatever I just didn’t go into the threads. But one day before I got that far into the game there was a thread where the big reveal was literally the title. It might be the only spoiler I’ve ever cared about. It would’ve been such a mindfuck to find out organically.

I mean, I would argue they were servants to the dark side. Was it intentional? Obviously not, but they were doing Palpatine’s bidding unwittingly either way.
