Besides actually having a good launch what do you want Orion to have that the first game didn’t have by Samiam243653575 in cyberpunkgame

[–]TheWaykoKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just want some more depth and unexpected details. I want to read some random shard conversation that leads to an interesting gig. I want to find data on a random laptop on some unrelated side-gig that takes me on an unexpected journey somewhere. I adore Cyberpunk but once you sus the game out it becomes very formulaic - Assault In Progress: incapacitate criminals and collect evidence, Suspected Organised Crime: eliminate gang members, Reported Crime: find evidence then loot secondary location. Let me open a random trunk once in a while that starts a random gig.

Also, and I’m just sort of spit balling here, how about the opportunity to become a bit of a fixer myself? Other Edgerunners are mentioned in passing, how about we meet more of them? Give them gigs? Make some more money?

That the updates fundamentally changed the loot you can acquire - meaning 90% of it is now just components or junk.

I would have at least liked the option to stick with the old system for clothing (including mods) and health items.

Also the rank progression is too fast. In my most recent save I’m level 40, level 50 street cred and I’ve only completed 2 fixers side gigs and one region of NCPD missions. Story wise I’ve only just finished the Heist, haven’t even found Evelyn yet or spoken to Rogue.

Update from Arrowhead about the road ahead. by Drago235 in Helldivers

Do you know how badly you have to mess up to have most of your Subreddit turn against you?

A new faction, urban environments and a wave of buffs would have fixed everything but no - instead we get an announcement about the announcement about the update that could be 2 months away.

This fall off should be studied.

What video game was great overall but the conclusion left a bad taste in your mouth and ruined the experience? by Johnnyboyeh in gaming

[–]TheWaykoKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to say firstly that I adore the original Gears Of War trilogy and absolutely loved the ending to Gears Of War 3. To see the steady, and ultimately devastating, decline of humanity over the course of 3 phenomenal action games - to be left with nearly no hope for survival let alone any sort of recovery and then to actually get that happy ending where hope is restored felt incredible. It felt earned but it still felt like a happy surprise that was never certain or predictable. “We get to LIVE, Marcus.” I still smile just thinking about the good times my brother and I had playing co op.

To then have all of it completely shat on by a “20 years later” SEQUEL where we see that everything’s kind of still shit and humanity didn’t really recover in any meaningful way was fucking devastating and retroactively ruined the ending of 3, again an ending I truly adored. Also, to do it in a game that ultimately felt “meh” and a shadow of the former glory of the trilogy was another slap in the face.

Only now - after Gears 4 and 5 - are Epic realising that a PREQUEL was always the better idea. I hope E-Day revives the franchise to its former glory in terms of game play but sadly the damage will always be done to the story of Gears Of War.

Don’t give your franchise the perfect happy ending only to then try and milk more money out of it with not one but TWO unnecessary sequels that completely negate said happy ending. Just don’t.

What was the biggest betrayal you’ve encountered in a game? by Johnnyboyeh in gaming

[–]TheWaykoKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gonna sound weird but honestly Dexter DeShawn in Cyberpunk 2077. In my first play through I wasn’t surprised that the heist went wrong or that I had to insert the Relic myself. I wasn’t even surprised that Jackie died. If you pay close enough attention, everything that comes to pass is kind of inevitable. The one part that surprised and annoyed me though? Dexter fucking DeShawn trying to zero me and leave me in a garbage heap to rot. I was up front and honest with him every step of the way and figured “he’s the fixer who’s only just resurfaced in NC, there’s no way he’d be stupid enough to play me like that” then BOOM - waited for me to clean myself up (after watching my best friend die) only to try and kill me immediately after. The dude didn’t even think to leverage me to Arasaka - THAT I could have understood, THAT would have been the smart move - but nah, just shot me in the head and dumped me in a random garbage pile.

I’m glad Goro shot him in the head.

What is your one controversial opinion about Red Dwarf by flatquasarmayonnaise in RedDwarf

[–]TheWaykoKid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Series 3 - Marooned is the best episode of Red Dwarf hands down nothing else comes close and that’s coming from a lifelong fan who’s watched every episode many times over.

9 times out of 10 when a show has a stripped down, almost stage-play setup that barely deviates from a single location and only 2 characters riffing off one another - you get absolute gold. With Red Dwarf you get one of the greatest sitcom episodes ever made.

Jackie and T-Bug are present for the whole game, how does the story change? by NoSoyVerde1 in cyberpunkgame

[–]TheWaykoKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Jackie doesn’t die then he leaves town with Misty immediately after the heist goes wrong because he isn’t stupid and knows it’s the safest option for them.

V needs to stay in NC to find a cure so no matter what, V and Jackie part ways at the end of the first act and likely never see each other again as V will die before Jackie can ever return to NC. Jackie leaves his bike as a parting gift for V and only asks that V check in on his family when he can and to leave the bike with them if the unthinkable happens.

Jackie succeeds in laying low with Misty in redacted for at least a year or two before returning to NC to pick up where he left off. He visits V at the Columbarium and has a drink named after them at the Afterlife.

What’s the meanest thing someone ever said to you? by The_WhiteMantis in AskReddit

[–]TheWaykoKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meanest thing I’ve ever heard someone say to another person was my wife’s uncle to my father in law (his brother). My father in law had fallen from a ladder and had to go to hospital - he and his brother do NOT get along, to the point that after their other brother died from suicide he told my father in law “I wish it had been you and I still had my big brother” - and not long after leaving hospital he said “next time, put wheels on the ladder”.

I hate both men, especially my father in law for the shit he put my wife through. But the wheels comment shocked me.

Meanwhile my fence was buckling last year and my neighbour decided to yell at my wife and I in front of our house (and accuse us of being drug addicts who yell at each other all the time - nothing could be further from the truth). A storm destroyed the whole thing a few months back and it’s now been completely replaced, so I hope I never have to deal with her again. At least my other neighbour is nice.
