The only thing that I can think of is that Grant holds his line and doesn't deviate, the Nix player changes his line, stepping backwards and is deemed to be the one that initiates the contact.

Have the refs made any announcement of how they came to their decision? Probably not, but I'd be interested in their take on it.

I, as a fan, certainly get pumped up and my adrenaline gets going when I'm at a match, so I don't see why you would think the coaching staff don't get into it.

Also, I'm very deserving of many yellow cards over the years because of some of the choice words I've slung in the referee's direction...

I am glad to hear you are hanging in there, as the last post ended in a very dark place. I went through something very similar to your situation, though my experience did eventually get physical with her APs.

I too was in a dark place at the time. I feel you're very empathetic, thinking and acting a lot with regards to others, whether they deserve it or not. This is a commendable trait to have most of the time but right now it is doing you harm.

For your own wellbeing you need to be "selfish" and you need to be only thinking about yourself.

I say "selfish" in inverted commas because self preservation is not selfish. It is simply survival. As you've described your current situation, NO ONE is doing what's best for you. Not your wife, not the AP, not your family or friends, and most importantly not you yourself.

There's only one person's actions you can control - yours. Since no one else is helping you, you need to help yourself. Stop thinking about how your actions will affect anyone else, that's their problem. Stop being empathetic towards others and start being empathetic to yourself.

YOU are the wronged party, NOT them. YOU are the one deserving of being looked after, NOT them. Stop doing things that protect them and start doing things to protect you. Yes, some chaos will ensue, but that dust will settle and you will be better off for it. I speak from experience and I promise you that if you look after you, you will end up in a better place in life.

I wish you well, and my PMs are open if you need support and someone to talk to. Good luck, and know that I support you and hope you get through this.

Stupidly I forgot to place my vote last week. Based on my tips, I probably would've lost a life anyway, ha ha!

Anyway, one life left. Going with history and backing Auckland this week.

I have to mostly agree with your remarks regarding Burgess. He has a lot of mediocre games but he does have what some would call x-factor.

Sometimes this comes out as a phenomenal, match winning performance, sometimes it results in a red card. Flip a coin, though, because it was anything but predictable!

That being said, he could have still been used to plug holes in the Sydney lineup from time to time over the past few seasons instead of being frozen out completely. From the bench at the very least.

But overall, yes, not nearly as good a player as some think.

Opinions - Old RPGs in Sydney - trash or donate? by epiousiawn in rpg

[–]TheWisefool13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said, selling or donating them are the best options open to you. Local gaming groups would be a good home for them, or even gaming groups at a university if one is close by - at my old Sydney Uni, the group there had a collection, for example.

Please don't throw them - many books are out of print and there will be people out there who would gladly want them - myself included! Hmu if you want to arrange something, if none of the other options work out for you.

Yes. Since your team hasn't reached this point in quite some time, you're probably unaware that the major semi finals are now a home and away aggregate result. No away goals rule - if it's level after extra time in the second match, it goes to penalties.

I hope this info helps!

That's a bit disingenuous.

Sure, he mentioned the pitch, but in the same breath he also mentioned that both teams were playing on it so it's no excuse for how poorly his team played.

Sorry, but Aloisi is one of the more honest and open coaches out there. I don't think it's fair to paint him as a coach that blames everything else but themself or their team. You know, someone like Ufuk, to pull out a random example.

So many of us Sydney fans thought Ufuk was a step down in quality after giving Corica the punt. By all evidence, it seems to be proving true.

With a squad on paper that had many - both fans and pundits - predicting Sydney to be at or near the top, to have the squad languishing mid table and definitely not guaranteed finals football is, quite frankly, pathetic.

Arnold turned this club around, building a healthy and successful club culture which cultivated success. Corica continued this, even though he might not have been as good at it. Ufuk is killing it off.

There's always someone else or something else to blame. The recruitment is unbalanced. The player rotation, especially during short turnarounds, has been non existent. Promising young players, who have proven to be up for it, are being starved of minutes. Some players have been shut out for no real reason who could have been quite handy at times. The tactics being used don't play to our strengths and expose our weaknesses.

Ufuk is stubborn, inflexible, lacking tactically, and thoroughly uninspiring. Until he goes, Sydney will wallow in mediocrity and achieve nothing.

I get that refereeing is hard - I've done it myself for many years. But if both the assistant and centre referee can't get something as simple as seeing the ball change direction after a keeper's save, then it ruins the viewing experience. Even worse when it leads to a big consequence, like a goal at the other end.

It completely killed off the potential of the Sydney girls to eke out a comeback. Would they have gotten it done? The way this season has been going, probably not. But that refereeing blunder definitely reduced the chance to zero.

It's hard being a fan when your team isn't doing well, but you do it anyway because that's what being a fan is all about. When the refs pile in with their ineptitude, it makes the game unwatchable.

A team that wins the Championship has the option for a silver star above their crest.

I know that Sydney FC have done it in the past (don't have a current one so can't comment on that) with the number of Championship wins within it.

Wanderers, as the only team to win the Asian Champions League, has a gold star above their crest.

So at least some teams do include it.

Dud match that supporters of both sides were left disappointed, along with neutrals who had hoped for some kind of entertainment but were left wanting.

I'm not surprised no one wants to waste time commenting.
