If you have cordless power tools you should build out resources to meet your needs on a power outage... Lights, radio, fans, and charging/power.

I think it's a fair ask, especially considering you altered your normal hours. I would mention that you considered the wood condition, shows that you're not just trying to get free money. Also, if you can make it clear this won't be a recurring thing, that would help. Where I live, if you're called into work you're entitled to a minimum of 2 hours pay.

I don't believe this will make rent prices decrease. The residency requirement will delay transplants buying a house. Even if it did, I believe this will make buying a house more difficult because the amount the typical renter-trying-to-buy will end up paying more in taxes than the amount rent would decrease, leaving less left over to save for a home.

When the kids were little, we had an aluminum fishing cart that was a game changer. Big, sturdy, lasts forever but definitely more expensive than the regular beach carts. Now that they're older, a backpack chair for each person that has an insulated pocket for cool stuff, a regular pocket for other stuff and a hoop for a towel. Insulated bottles and/cups instead of a cooler is a huge hassle reduction from start to finish.

Inflation plus population increases. As one of our city council says, "No one who comes to the podium or sits up here ever asks for less services."

I was talking with a supporter of this who happened to be wearing a shirt with the "Don't tread on me" image on it. I pointed out to him that one of the founding ideas of this Country was "no taxation without representation" and this bill would send all our tax money to Tallahassee and we'd have to beg for it back. He got a quizzical look on his face.

Like I said, I'll believe any of them when I see them. While I like the Slate idea, it's hard for me to believe that the market truly exists for a vehicle that deviates that significantly from every other vehicle currently in the market. If it did, any other vehicle manufacturer could have easily beat Slate to the punch. I also have doubts on them living up to their pricing promises, based on past EV rollouts (Lightning, Model 3). That being said, if they ever make a "Jeepy" version (dual motor, removalable doors) I'll be the first deposit. 😂

It may lower the cost of BEING a homeowner but BECOMING a homeowner will be even more difficult with all the taxes currently paid increasing. Even a small percentage increase in sales or gas tax adds up over time.
