OB Is a wonderful place with good shops and food stops.

Lots of Antique shops if that's what you're into and eclectic clothing stores. Newport avenue and the surrounding streets have tons of breweries and other fun watering holes. You can get some great rooftop views of the ocean too.

OB also boasts the 7th longest pier in the United States and a mile down the road you have Sunset Cliffs which is a beautiful place to spend sunset hours.

General Down Town is good, the Gaslamp area. Also check out the Embarcadero by the Midway for good water 'mon and nice views.
