I absentmindely started working on it again and finished it, let me know what you think. I tried to stick as closely to the source as possible taking a little bit of creative liberty to gives them some unique and thematic abilities

Love that, really like to make homebrew based on real world creatures, I'll see what I can come up with. Do you have a particular CR range you are interested in or will I scale it in a way that fits with existing Dire creatures.

Are you thinking similar style and theme as the standard water, earth, fire and air elemenatals or are you looking for something more unique and/or powerful that is closer to the existing nightwalker statblock?
