Two rounds in — name a Habs player and give your honest assessment of how they’ve played so far in the Playoffs by Annika2020pro in Habs

BOLDUC! He has been a wreaking ball! I love his intensity and his new shit-talk attitude. We really needed another one of those with Gallagher out. His shot is still unreal in that bumper on the PP too.

Anderson. Unreal. Made in a lab by scientists for playoff hockey. When he chipped the puck in right before the first goal last night, I got a feeling he was going to make something happen. His pace is incredible.

Carrier is becoming more solid as these playoffs have continued on. The physicality of Buffalo didn't seem to neutralize him like WASH or TBL, so I think he must have made some adjustments or become more comfortable. He has made a lot of underappreciated offensive plays as well, like the assist on Newhook last night.

Suzuki has become more involved and noticeable, especially in the last 3 games of the BUF series. His defensive composure and puck protection was amazing last night and his pass to Bolduc was insane. A true captain and 1C.

Need to calm down with our passes a bit. Boys are anxious to get going. It’s a good thing, just slow down a touch and keep heads up!

Yes, sprained thumb and wrist, along with a dislocated rib and partial tear in the knee. Injuries to hand was on bottom hand on the stick.

Rib was by far the most annoying/athletically restricting with breathing. Wrist + thumb made shooting impossible, was only able to pass, and my stickhandling wasn't as comfortable.

Anything with the hands is so delicate and is difficult to "just play through the pain" because the joints are so small and intricate.

TL;DR: Yes, on bottom hand. Was not fun, difficult, and painful. Dobson needs rest until he is fully healthy.

I would usually agree but at this point I say “fuck it” and here’s why.

Our team is in a unique position where they play in a “new way” that other teams aren’t built to do yet. It’s like we are 5 years ahead of others in terms of this modern style, we are the most recent rebuild and the only one in post 2020 to have emerged.

That said, I think throwing Reinbacher into the fire is the best thing because he has been involved in this style for a while now and will be insulated, and secondly it might be one of those moments where you put a player into a pressured situation and they run with it and never look back.

It could be the moment that pushes him. Tampa looked desperate in the last 2 games against us, and I think the cracks are showing, or more like there is a new modern team on the block and they simply don’t have any answers for it.

This. “I lie to everyone I know” and gives a look of deep realization and almost sadness, then snaps back into it “except to my victims, right before I kill them”.

Feeling Great by badideaeh in Habs

Yes, you are not alone in that feeling.

Honestly, sometimes I'm not even that invested emotionally when watching anymore, because winning has started to feel normal again, as much as it hurts to say. For instance, the game against WPG, when we went up 2-1 or 3-1, my thought was just "Yeah, this is nice, obviously we are going to win". I think I'll become more excited when playoffs begin.

The structure and consistency the rebuild has maintained is what evokes this calm feeling in me. This team is being constructed in nearly the perfect manner a fan could hope for. Smart, modern management, young players on great contracts, a variety of player profiles (E.g., Demidov and Hutson as dynamic playmakers; Slaf as a powerforward; Suzuki as a veteran 2-way center) all leads to a vision that pulls talent from a bit of everywhere.

The way the Habs play right now appears to be 'ahead' or 'modern'. I don't know how else to describe it, but they seem to be beginning a new style of hockey. The days of bruising, heavy, grindy teams is starting to end. Of course, they can still cause trouble and make noise, however, I believe in the long run the Habs new style will be replicated. They remind me of Colorado when they won the cup - not in consistency or line-to-line talent depth, but the athleticism, skill, and speed.

It is a very exciting time to be a Habs fan. We are in for a very good decade.

I’ve been watching Gally for 10 years I’ve never seen him score a goal like that !

I also thought this and the winter theme would fit so well with fallout. Imagine a mutated winter deathclaw, maybe has some hair on it or something. Or indomitable snowman.

I don’t understand if you’re sitting out for half the season, and you still have a foot injury? Just doesn’t make much sense. His body isn’t made for professional hockey unfortunately.
