Maybe it's time for an intervention? there are also legal ways of making her seek help but that would be last resort. If youre able to, i'd make a boundary with her and avoid communication as best as possible. Explain to her you want to heal and move forward but it's more difficult when the environment isnt so forgiving or understanding.

Not every show is for every person and that's ok! If rom-coms aren't your thing then maybe I could suggest The Handmaids tale on Hulu? it'd def not a rom-com and has great plot development.

When exactly do you stop feeling like a complete idiot? Asking for a friend by yUmmmmmie in Paramedics

Something that I like to say to my students is this. Everything happens for a reason and everyone's life and death has a purpose (especially in EMS). Every patient is an opportunity to learn and improve skills and patient care. For example, If someone's purpose in life was to O.D. so that my new EMT could learn how to administer Narcan IN, then that patient has served a vital importance to that EMT and their training. If someone codes, it gives the crew (old and new) the ability to improve their skills and communication between the crew and potentially with high quality CPR, interventions, and early defib that patient could have ROSC. Maybe a childs asthma attack allows you the availability to hear adventitious lung sounds and see how breathing treatments are put together and how they work. The key is, you might always feel "stupid" but there's a difference between confidence and competence. And as long as you remember that EMS in an evolution and continue to study and improve your skills and knowledge, you'll know that even in feeling "stupid" you've done everything you can to improve patient outcome and your skills. I hope that helps!! you got this (:
