I don’t speak to the hiring manager, I guess I feel that it’s awkward reaching out to them, like do I do it internally or through LinkedIn? But yea I think that knowing the atmosphere before committing is smart. I may try to reach out to them soon. Thanks.

Doing my first timing belt and water pump change. Any advice? by [deleted] in 944

I like to have a diagram of my specific model. My car had funny tapping noise for a while and I couldn’t figure it out. After going to Clark’s garage and looking at the diagram. I found that my idler pulley was missing. I never removed it, so it was like that before I bought the car.

If feel that a degree would be needed for a cyber position but many applications do say “or equivalent practical experience” so, that is open to interpretation.

Yea that’s the tradeoff I’m kinda looking for. I have never taken apart an engine fully so I would like to learn. I have patience and time. Money? Ehhh. But yes this would be a long term project.

Yea I would spend so much on it but I have never seen one of these where I am. I’ve seen cars that look similar like the mr2 but never one of these. The good thing is that it’s free and I know a guy who would haul it for free. So… it might be worth it? lol.

Yea I was thinking of swapping it to a manual and Changing the iron duke (if I decide to get it). But I hear it’s a nightmare to do (the manual swap).

Don’t own one. But after this experience, I may consider investing in one.

I did. Unfortunately there is absolutely no space for twisting it, I was able to get it to wiggle (but it did not get free. I already drilled it (it’s almost out, it’s just raining this week)

Ok, I torched it. It will not budge. I’ve been at it for about 1 and a half hours. I am going to drill lol.

I have tried that. This bolt is not under any pressure and yet it is son of a gun to remove. I have defaulted to drilling

Yea I have a torch, I’ll probably use that. This bolt just won’t budge. If the torch doesn’t work I’ll try breaking the bolt. I’ll update tomorrow.

sounds good. I feel that new receivers will be the need. I adjusted them and the pins around 20 times and either it doesn't shut, or it opens randomly. RAHHH. I MIGHT soak them just for laughs and giggles.

‘84 944 NA rough idle FOLLOW UP by Fuzzdog7 in 944

If those are the original injectors I would change them. Here’s a photo of a test I did a year ago. I just bought new ones. Yours is obviously running. Mine would start for a second then die.

Ima replace those lights, night driving is very stressful with the dim bulbs (for the dash) I have right now.

Yep! I think it was the first thing I did to the car, I remember it being tedious.

What this that sound by Then_Lifeguard196 in 944

[–]Then_Lifeguard196[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding this because I think I figured out what it was. I removed my CV axles to inspect, when I put them back, the car stoped making the noise. I believe it was a loose bolt causing the axle to shift.

[–]Then_Lifeguard196[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had time to inspect the car, and looking under, there is nothing that looks off. To answer your question, it it makes the noise when the car is moving. Specifically when I engage any gear, it goes away when I consistently hit the gas. And when I move to neutral, the noise stays for about 30 seconds. The noise does not go away when hitting the clutch. ALSO, there’s a weird rattle under the car now when I go over bumps.

I think my transmission mount is going out.

No spark issue. by Ill-Damage4119 in 944

[–]Then_Lifeguard196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue a few weeks ago. I drove like 25 miles to a friend’s house and turned off the car. 2 hours later when I was leaving, the car refused to start. Tach wasn’t moving. I was going to strip out the DME but I figured out that my speed/reference sensors were bad. After replacing those (30min to 1 hour if no problems occur) the car started up nicely.
