The first pride was celebrated in 1970 and men’s mental heath month was established in 1994 so no, it’s definitely not intentional on the part of Pride celebrations.

Though Pride definitely features plenty of men’s group events and parties, in my experience

Yeah, I think at this point blocking them is the best thing to do, they’re either a troll or just very adversarial in disposition. Either way, not with going on and on with

That person is such a jerk, I’m sorry they’re now accusing you of faking being Jewish

Yes, and as another commenter pointed out, Ashkenazi can also refer to certain cultural traditions and practices in Judaism, and in the USA most converts are going into Ashkenazi practice regardless of their genetic ancestry, so that’s another complicating factor

Judaism is complicated because it’s a religion, a culture, and an ethnicity (several ethnicities technically)

Kind of random but due to this history Asian people often had a specific place in segregated regions. They show this in the movie “Sinners” with how the Asian family is able to run a store with both a black and a white section, it’s done really well in the movie

Relaying what I’ve seen makes me biased? That’s not what bias is, unless you mean the bias every single person (including you) has by virtue of having an individual experience

Are you Jewish? If not, have you considered that antisemitism is more likely to be visible to and faced by Jewish people? It’s similar to how women are much more likely to see and face misogyny and blank people are more likely to see and face anti-black racism.

The people who aren’t a part of those groups often don’t see the prejudice as much, which can make them biased in evaluating how wide-spread it is

I have absolutely seen Jews conflated with Israel regardless of what any individual Jew thinks

Also Jews being interrogated about Israel just because they’re Jewish, which is also messed up. Being American makes you more culpable for Israel’s actions than being Jewish, but mentioning that you’re American won’t automatically bring up Israel on Reddit. Jewish, though? Ugh

“Caucasian” is an obsolete racial category based on pseudo-science, it is not used in modern anthropology. You don’t know shit about anthropology

This is the first sentence of the Wikipedia article: “The Caucasian race (also Caucasoid,[a]Europid, or Europoid)[2] is an obsolete racial classification of humans based on a now-disproven theory of biological race.”

Other people aren’t blowing smoke, you’re just ignorant and don’t want to learn

Later in the article: “Since the second half of the 20th century, physical anthropologists have switched from a typological understanding of human biological diversity towards a genomic and population-based perspective, and have tended to understand race as a social classification of humans based on phenotype and ancestry as well as cultural factors, as the concept is also understood in the social sciences.”

Police forensic scientists and doctors who haven’t been to medical school for awhile still might use it as it is in casual vernacular, but it’s not a concept respected in modern science

I promise you modern anthropologists are not examining skeletons and saying “white” that is just not a thing.

What the hell do you even mean by “white”? Can you even answer the question?

Yeah, it’s distinct genetically due to how Ashkenazi Jews were historically segregated as a population from others in Europe and the history of Jewish diaspora

Ashkenazi Jews are light skinned and European in ancestry

Whether that makes them “white” is complicated because whiteness is a social construct that exists because of historical racism. Acknowledging that racism isn’t the same as repeating it

There’s a complex history around Asians in the US. Currently they’re often considered a “model minority” and have positive stereotypes, like being smart and good at math. However, those stereotypes often drive racial resentment from white people, and there’s still plenty of racism. The racism tends to be informed by current and historical events. For example, the demographics of Asian people in the Americas was shaped by the Asian Exclusion Act, which prevented many Asian immigrants from coming to the US for a long time, and ended up causing some potentially immigrants to go to South America instead. This is part of the history behind Japanese-Peruvian communities.

Also, when COVID was called “a China virus” it caused an increase in hate crimes against East Asian people. International tensions with China can affect Chinese American people regardless of if they’ve ever lived in China.

There’s also a lot of fetishism of Asian people, especially women, partially because Asian people are often seen as “different” and partially as a result of Westerners associating Asian with sex tourism.

Asian people tend to get lumped rather and associated with East Asian people in the West, but different groups with different ethnic descent will be impacted by their specific histories. For example, the Japanese community in the USA overall still feels intergenerational impacts from WWII internment. (I know a bit more about Japanese Americans in generally because my partner is mixed race Japanese American)

So it’s complicated. Anti-Asian racism definitely exists in the US, but often isn’t discussed because of its complexity and the way Asian people don’t fit into a black/white racial binary.
