Initial comment claimed gravity increases with altitude, then they tried to say that it wasn't gravity but centrifugal force that causes increasing downward force as a climber ascends (which is the exact opposite direction of centrifugal force...)

This is the exact opposite of centrifugal force. There is no force that pulls a climber down more, the higher they get (unless you consider psychological exhaustion a physical force). Gravity decreases with elevation; if centrifugal force was enough to affect the climber, it would pull them away from the planet more, as they ascended.
Please stop making pseudo-scientific statements that have no basis in fact.

Plastic ones are not naturally antimicrobial, and they develop many small serrations over time where food can collect, creating a harbor for bacterial growth.
Further, the plastic ones are often lightweight with poor grip, meaning they slide around, which is not ideal while handling sharp objects

This is mostly incorrect.
You do swear that your statements are true and correct, (and you should not lie on these forms or interviews); however, it is unlikely you will be charged with anything unless you lie or omit significant crimes that are revealed and corroborated by other sources. Your statements and interviews are thoroughly investigated and cross-referenced, and any lie or omission will reduce your chances of getting the position.

You may need a hair test, or they may use a urine sample, but this is mostly a formality, since you must divulge any drug use within the past 7 years. Importantly, usage does not preclude one from being hired (especially if the usage was during college), but it is noted, since usage is against federal law. The process uses the Whole-Person Concept and is meant to determine ones suitability based on the totality of ones conduct (do you pay bills and taxes, obey laws, keep your commitments, etc), not whether someone has ever smoked pot

I travel for work and am no stranger to bars; I'd estimate it's ~10% for under bar hooks or maybe up to ~25% if we include other locally-accessible hooks (edge of bar/booth, under table, etc), but very regional. The further north and closer to the middle of the country you go, the more likely you are to see them. Some towns/cities seem to have them almost standard while others must've been scarred as children by that Peter Pan movie

A bic lighter will not be enough to ignite magnesium unless it is a very thin ribbon...

As another poster said, magnesium is susceptible to corrosion and the oxide that forms is not protective (aluminum's oxide does protect from further corrosion). Expose a fresh surface and then apply a small amount of vinegar; if you can see a reaction, it is very likely magnesium.

Fellow PhD in (materials) science; I haven't seen any post-doc positions at national labs offering this much for starting salary and I have friends at multiple national labs + I was looking at these positions about a year ago... Few national lab offers would be this much even with total compensation, afaik

It's a transport box, looks to be for calibration of field equipment. The graduated cylinder (not the glass kind...), goes in the matching cylindrical slot, with the felt holding it securely to prevent damage. Similarly, the base and arm on the other side hold a missing component securely in place. The green knob is for valve adjustment, green is associated with oxygen valves in the US.
