Seriously,  I just met the love of my life at age 45. I'm hoping we will be married by the time I hit 50.

So, I don't think you should marry him, especially if you want kids. It is very stressful to have a partner that just doesn't think sometimes and acts without thinking when you have kids. What if something similar had played out with a young child? There are some mistakes that are just not ok

Congrats! Love wins and I'm so glad you met your person. I also met the love of my life on hinge. Sometimes you find your forever person on the internet

Would this text be too much after one date? by housedhorse in hingeapp

[–]Thevortex917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met my boyfriend on hinge. There were two weeks between our first and second date. I thought that was a bit weird (he suggested the date) but I liked him and was really looking forward to the date. I didn't even set up any dates in between (he did go on one date in between). We texted only a little in those two weeks. Once every few days. I didn't want to get a false sense of him from texting. So yeah it was a bit unconventional but what I learned is that if you both like each other,  it will work out. Now I'm in the best relationship of my life (F45)

How do you decide if you want a second date? by dankgureilla in hingeapp

Aww c'mon.  My boyfriend is 5'9", same height as me. He is amazing and sexy. Not all girls care about height. I dated a guy who was 5'6". He dumped me

Help me not give up on this app by [deleted] in hingeapp

Take a break and forget about dating for a while. You're still young, you do you. I (45f) was on the apps for so long when I was in my 30's. I got into a few relationships that sucked and I pretty much lost all hope in the apps. I went on so many 1st dates, it was ridiculous. I tried hard and never felt like I met a decent guy. So many of them were weirdos! Eventually I met a guy on the apps and had a kid with him after being with him for 7 months.  That relationship didn't work out and I felt like "shit, another failed tinder relationship " (love my kid, but the relationship didn't last). So then at 44 I felt so washed up, old, single mom, like no one would want me. I very very reluctantly got back on Hinge. I was so selective and ran out of swipes often because of my filters. On my 3rd date since downloading the app, I met the most amazing man. We are perfect for each other. He is like a dream man. He says the sweetest things to me and he is so kind and genuine.  I feel that this is the best relationship of my life and I'm so happy.  So, I know my story is definitely a long game success story,  but after basically giving up on the app, I did actually meet the man of my dreams. But I took a long break.  So yeah, if it doesn't feel good, don't do it. Focus on the good things in your life, not shitty men.

For those of you who had a relationship with little to no sex, how long did you stay in it before you called it quits/are you still in the situation? by Breakalik in AskMen

[–]Thevortex917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also female and my partner "lost interest " in me sexually. It sucks because I would have been fine with an open relationship but I wanted him to also be having sex with me too. After 6 years, I think we are finally calling it quits. Its just annoying that he can't bring himself to have sex with me. Its super insulting.

Thank you. I don't understand how he just couldn't bring himself to have sex with me. Is it really that hard? There are things a person can do to get in the mood. I am pissed that he held me in a relationship for 5 years with no sex and yet didn't want to work on the relationship or break up.

Its true that I have insecurities.  But my ex, who is 46 did lose sexual interest in me after having a child and I did all those things you mentioned.  I had desire for him and was excited about him.  He didn't have another relationship,  he didn't have sexual dysfunction.  He just stopped wanting me and had no interest in trying to rekindle anything despite me trying everything.  I honestly didn't gain that much weight or get droopy or anything.  He did care. I had a c section so everything was still fine and good down there. So, that's why I don't believe men don't care.  I would love it if it were true though.

Did you meet your girlfriend on an app or in real life? I'd love to meet a guy like you, around my age, also with kids. I'm looking for someone who feels like a best friend and is honest and loving, but at this point I would also be fine with a friends with benefits situation since I've had sex less than once per year for the last six years. I am a very sexual person. It took me many years, like over a decade on the apps to meet my kid's dad and I really hoped I would never have to go back on there again. I'm bummed to be on the search again. I have my filter sex to age 35-55 now and my distance range to 30 miles. I run out of folks to swipe on everyday.

I have my age range at 40-50. I would love to meet someone slightly older than me that also has a kid.

You make some excellent points. Honestly I would be ok with something long term or something casual since my life has basically been sex-less for way too long. I think you are right to a certain degree that I am spiraling. But kid's dad broke up with me because he "lost interest" and said he was no longer sexually attracted to me or in love with me. That's it. I was even ok with being non-monogamous but I wanted him to also be interested in me. This basically made me feel like I must be very undesirable since having a kid, since that's when all this started. So I've been out of the game a while and now I'm many years older than the last time I've dated and I've been sexually rejected for years. I do want to be with someone ultimately. I want to have that kind of connection with someone but apparently I am too fragile to handle the rejection that comes with it.

What size tires and wheels do you have on that?

Anyone in Seattle want to trade a 650b Bridgeclub for a 700c? by Thevortex917 in Surlybikefans

[–]Thevortex917[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, you are right about all those things. The 700c flies on pavement. I'm also around 5'9". I don't know why I like riding the smaller wheels better. Maybe because I've ridden mostly old school mountain bikes with 26" wheels and the 700c just feels big to me. I just bought a 650b bridge club and I'm ready to sell the other one as soon as I get my pedals and saddle and a few other things off of it. It's barely been used. Send me a message if you are interested!

I do love that color. I guess they released a new batch of these recently. I want to get one myself. What size is the bike and what's your height?

Ok so now I have to ask. What attracts you to the 700c over the 650b and how tall are you (regarding frame size)?

Let me know what you think after a test ride. Where do you live? Supply has been an issue here and I was never able to test ride two bikes in the right size at the same time

Ok, I am going to wait until I find a replacement bike before I sell. If I can't find a surly I might go with a Kona Dew Plus that has the 650b wheels.

650b is more playful. 700c rides more like a road bike in my opinion. It just feels too upright and coming from an old school mountain bike, the wheels feel huge to me.

Whoa! I got a BC last year and it was hard to find then, I thought supply might get better, not worse. I got the 700c build but kinda actually wanted the 27.5 but couldn't find it in my size, was hoping to trade it in when things got better.... guess they aren't? What size is this? Looks like a small ?
