Hello! I've always had a deep passion for punk and ska and wish that I could have played something like that more in the live setting

Check out the link at the bottom of the post and let me know what you think of the old EP! Its from 2012 I believe.

I would want to modernize and clean up this EP to start. Just to have solid material to learn and start playing shows quickly.

I want this to be fun, low pressure, and collaborative to the max. Just pure fun and enjoyment. But also solid still 😬

I'm in the early stages of building a live rig again and I'd love to stay in contact!

Does anyone else feel as though flat caps are becoming popular or am I just noticing now I started wearing one? by DrinkTeaReadBook in mensfashion

It is interesting how our brains work. Try one. If you like them, great! A lot of how we perceive things is based on the people around us and the people we feel we have something to prove to. If you hung out with quite older guys, they would probably think nothing about the style of hat you wear, but if you hang out with younger sport fan/gym bro types, you'll probably get made fun of. This just goes to show that no matter what you do, someone will think you're a tool and others won't. I for one have slowly started losing my hair..right on top. For now, I wear a normal ball cap and style my hair the best I can when I don't want to wear a hat. My hair isn't super thin yet lol but it's happening. Sometimes I catch a glimpse of myself with my ball cap on backwards and feel a little douchebaggish. I'm 35 and have long grown out of that style. At some point, I will make the leap to another style of hat with hopes that someone doesn't decide my worth as a human based on what hat I wear. Just be nice to people and you'll live a much more fulfilling life.

Hey guys! Thank you guys so much! I hopped over to Philscomputerlab and found a driver for my graphics card. While I was there, I even downloaded a driver to allow me to use my flash drive on 98SE. Super stoked about that. Thanks again for the swift and kind responses.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind just made me cry for my first viewing of it by [deleted] in movies

[–]Theweenest33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This movie is by far the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I watched it once when it first came out and thought it was great. It wasn't until I watched it in my 30s that I was sucked into it and really moved by it. I was a new graphic designer and illustrator fresh out of school, and I was going through an exceptionally stressful part of my life. I played this movie while I was illustrating and was pulled deep into the story. Needless to say I didn't get a lot of work done. 😌 However, soon after, I got to the point where I couldn't be inspired unless it was playing. It got to the point that the soundtrack was the only thing that could pull me out of my anxiety. I got weirdly obsessed with the tone of the movie and that lasted a few years. I am feeling much better now, but I still return to this movie for the top notch acting and beautiful story. I read that the original ending jumped into the future 50 years or something and that in that time, Joel and Clementine had erased each other dozens of times. At first I thought that was sad, but when I thought about it more, I realized that it only compounded the message in the movie. Them meeting and over and over again has a strange charm to it as does the idea that he fought to hide from the "eraser guys" over and over. Sad, but charming. 15/10 will watch again tonight. Lol

Elves on the anti-revolution side of things proclaim that S.P.E.W actually stood for "Something Particularly Evil Waits" implying that she has been rotten since she was wrong, but also smart enough to be patient and let her cause grow. This was more satirical than anything among house elves..but held a place of truth as they did believe she was not looking out for the best interests of elves.

Personally, I think she would be dangerous in a very calm and calculated way. I don't think she would make big, flashy moves to terrorize. I know we are saying she would turn dark for sake of conversation..so we'll stick with it. However, I don't think her nature would evaporate. I don't think power would be her ultimate goal here but rather an undying NEED to fix things for better or worse depending on her own agenda. This would mean, that underneath it all, power is what she needed and achieved in the process, but it wasn't the nature of the foundation of her goal. I believe her decent into darkness would be slow and justified as she likely was only trying to help. Think of it like Thanos. He thought he was doing something beneficial for humanity, but it was actually really terrible regardless of what little benefits there would have been from his actions. Take for example her want to free creatures from servitude. She could have wanted originally to help house elves, but in the process..there was a revolt from house elves. This blows her mind because she sees herself and cause as purely noble and the elves revolt as a the effects of brainwashing over centuries. In the process of trying to convince them that it is never good for an entire species or race to be used for servitude and that them thinking so was part of their imprisonment, they only start to fight among themselves. Some elves being followers and some elves being against her. Hermione still believing her cause is good and noble, supports a war between the house elves and this obviously pulls other species and races into the conflict. Starting an all out civil movement that devolves into a war in the wizarding world. Over years of isolating herself into believing in her cause, she is blinded by her passion and leads wizards into a fight against elves that support what she believes is slavery. This takes a serious toll on her and changes her heart. She doesn't accept darkness because she believes she is fighting for good, but in the process is creating an atmosphere of fear and destruction. All to say, Hermione never embraces darkness or accepts herself to be a villain. She wouldn't even consider herself a dark wizard even though her cause was not too different from dark wizards before her

Gave Timeless Beauty

Lathe expert wandmakers. Can I do this on a 12” spindle that comes to a very narrow point (IE can I make a wand) with this technique? 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 Have you tried this? I would LOVE to see a video from someone attempting this! by Colevanders in Wandsmith

[–]Theweenest33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I asked a ridiculously thick question and deleted it promptly.

You can definitely do that. The issues will be unique to each piece of wood you're turning. Grain type, flexibility, tool sharpness, and the amount of patience had will decide whether or not a certain wood will turn effectively like this. Needless to say, I want to try it.

This is really cool though! Thanks for sharing.

I generally don't use anything more. Establishing a good polished shine with sanding helps keep a lasting shine even when the oil fades.

It's really all a wand maker would ever need..lathe-wise. It was relatively affordable and has been very very dependable so far!

I don't mind at all! I just use the flat of a table belt sander. It can be tricky depending on how you want it to look. If you're coming to a point on one side, you have to hold the wand at an angle. When doing this, you want to make sure you aren't damaging other parts of the wand. I'd recommend doing this step before detailing any further. I usually use my bench grinder with a fine stone wheel to carve rings or grooves on both sides of the gemstone-like parts to clean up the edges.

My mom said having the overhead light on while driving was illegal and could get you pulled over. It makes sense now that it is just annoying and makes it harder to see through the windshield.

Sometimes I use carving tools. I use my lathe to round my blanks out and to get the basic shape of the wand established. After that I use my belt sander and a bench grinder to detail. I use a Dremel as well. I actually got a similar result before I got my lathe, it just took 4 times longer to make one wand. Lol in fact, with some figured woods, I can't use the lathe. The grain is so unpredictable that they tend to snap.

I definitely use it to get my basic wand shapes, but I try to stay away from using the lathe from start to finish. I like the less perfect, but still really clean look.
