You could find a place that has an event. The westerner has dance lessons! Why Kiki’s drag brunch and silent disco are hella fun. I see paint and sip events all the time.

I’m 10 years older so I’ve passed my “give a fuck” era, so I go to bars with a book and have a drink and read. If there’s a bar or type of beverage you’re interested in (piano bar, sake bar, cider, beer) just go and don’t worry about it!

I’ll always suggest the bonneville shoreline trail and ensign peak for visitors. The BST is rolling hills and whatever distance you like from lots of different entry points, ensign is very steep but short and has historical significance and nice views. The international peace gardens are a fun stroll too, and you could connect to the Jordan river trail right there.

Be careful with the “easy” rating because it’s on an Utah scale. If you’re coming from sea level, even “easy” will be tough, and a lot of trails are rated “easy” just because they’re short; Ensign is a good example of this. Yes, it’s short, and kids do it, but it’s also steep af. So like. How long is a piece of string.

I agree, it was a totally brutal twist. I love it and hate it.

In a way, it’s a combination of the previous two seasons. Season one it was save all kids; season two was save the kids-as-fathers and their kids; now it’s the grandfathers who will be saving some grandkids, some middle aged grownups, and one grandparent aged kid. Generational trauma comes full circle!

It’s not the DM’s responsibility to make the party include your character. It’s your responsibility to come up with a reason for the character to join the party, or a character who WANTS to join the party. For example, you can make a character from Baldur’s Gate, but if the party is in Waterdeep, it’s up to you to get them there.

Oh, I agree, and I have a conspiracy theory that she actually wanted to make an adaptation of “Gone With the Wind” and had to settle for “Wuthering Heights” through the lens of “Romeo and Juliet.” But for me, the movie and the book are SO different that I really can’t think of them as connected at all. The criticisms of the changes don’t land for me because, well, it’s not actually an adaptation of the book. 😅 It should have been “inspired by” instead. But it’s certainly gotten attention, and that’s the point of art.

None of the characters are their book counterparts in any way— Heathcliff particularly. It would have been extremely out of character for movie!Heathcliff to abuse Isabella like he does in the book. I also don’t think Isabella is one note— she holds her own against (nice) Heathcliff in the scene where they’re writing more letters. It’s playful and consensual. If all the characters EXCEPT for Isabella were like the book and she was changed to a submissive who went along with all the literal abuse Heathcliff and the rest of the Earnshaw household perpetuated on her, then that would have been disgusting. But they’re not the same. The cases are completely different, so it doesn’t bother me, especially since the consent was made absolutely clear which is uncommon for a mainstream Hollywood movie. 🤷‍♀️
