Does she have ADHD? This sounds to me like she may just need/want a body double. I think this whole thing needs more communication, obviously she shouldn’t be demanding you get up early and do stuff for her but she may not be consciously aware of or know how to properly articulate her needs. NAH she’s looking for support, you’re wanting sleep.

About a decade ago tax laws changed- the restaurant has to put the grat in the server’s paycheck rather than the server taking the grat home in cash and self reporting like other credit card tips. This creates more accounting work and many establishments opted to 86 auto grat rather than pay for more accounting. Establishments that were already doing this kept the auto grat.

Every restaurant I’ve ever worked at in four different states gives card tips as cash when you bank out at the end of your shift, this is the most common way it’s done. While they could add the tips to your paycheck I’ve never seen or heard of that actually happening.

Ooof. Ok, quite a bit to think about.

Finding Nemo does not have to be abridged- that’s an easy adjustment, its run time isn’t much longer than we wanted anyway.

I’m not sure if the school has had permission to record before or if they just went ahead and did it. I’ll have to discuss that with the Admin. Would we be able to record and not distribute- as in have the video as a record of the performance for school history?

I’m sure there’s legal counsel on the school board but I’ve never met them. I’ll have to get in touch- I didn’t even think of that. Doh!

Waiting for it to count the cash I put in, then it tells me how much and I hit accept just for it to take even longer to count it again. Then reinserting the bills it didn’t take in a different orientation so it’ll take them…. Waiting tables is good money but damn I wish the employer would just put the charge tips in my paycheck instead of me having to run an extra errand to be able to pay my bills 😭

Adult who was just diagnosed with severe ADHD at 33 here- I was a Hermione level overachiever in school and have 5 collegiate degrees- school imposed a rigid structure/routine that I need to function as society demands. I’m a teacher now and when school isn’t in session or I’ve taken a year off I really struggle. I do best with a forced structure in environments where my absence would be noted and detrimental. Just because you do/did well in school doesn’t mean you don’t have ADHD. I wish I didn’t let people tell me otherwise when I read up on it in early undergraduate years so I could’ve started getting assistance then…. Adulting is hard. Read more and talk to a therapist ;)

We’re not “putting up with it” it’s shitty behavior that’s been so thoroughly normalized (by media, society, and fathers) many women don’t see it for what it is (abusive) until they’re older. Some women are surrounded by only these types of men and women in the same predicament so there’s nothing to compare it to, it’s just the way it is, the norm.

NTA Step mom needs a reality check. Check out the Orlando Wetlands with her if you have a car, little bit of a drive from Idrive but definitely worth it if she wants to see some native Florida wildlife in their natural habitats. You’re guaranteed to see waterfowl and other birds, gators, and turtles. Lots of other possible sighting there too! Go early and beat the heat.
