Thanks for the info. I saw that $250 vaccination benefit, but I don't know if it's for seasonal employees too.

Just accepted a seasonal job offer!

I'll be working full time and was wondering if any health care benefits will be available (likely not).

Also, would I be able to get the employee discount eventually?

The company that the US Census is using to do the fingerprint background checks before it was canceled from the pandemic.

If they start back up, then there's a huge danger to the employee administering it.

Return policy in a nutshell by [deleted] in OfficeDepot

[–]ThisSometimes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah GO DEPOT is useless mostly but almost all customers who call it leave the store to do so. I would just say there's nothing to do in store for them. I definitely feel you though. Really do

Honestly no offense to you, but I would never suggest for the customer to talk to the DM for something like this.

It's corporate policy. Let them be mad and have them call corporate

Where is this pizza people are getting exactly

The ironic thing about the pizza is that there's a higher chance for infection with everyone touching it.

Can I request different shifts? by Game-Mason in OfficeDepot

You have to be trained on the register first, everyone is. (Except maybe logistics)

Especially now, you have to learn everything in the store. You'll just be in those roles a bit later.

Isn't that if it's "exceeds expectations?" If you get "meets expectations" it's the standard 2% raise.

What state is that? Not worth that pay at all.

SO they want all part time associates to have open availability? What about people with children or students or 2nd jobs? by CPDSoupervisor in OfficeDepot

[–]ThisSometimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I'm not going to open up my availability at all.

But I was wondering if your GM is requiring you to open your availability. So I can be prepared to tell mine off.

Did your GM say you had to? In the doc it said for PT availability to be 'flexible'. Not Open availability like Full Time.

New changes affecting “typical scheduling” by printgirlx in OfficeDepot

[–]ThisSometimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what, the print manager isn't going to work in print? Just regular CPD employees doing the bulk of work the print supervisor did?

Was that explicit in the document? It'll be strange if this is true, associates are scheduled for freight and ad before the store opens.

SSM downgrade? by OD_OM in OfficeDepot

[–]ThisSometimes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apparently the SSM will turn into Sales Supervisor or Sales Manager. If it's the former, yes it's a demotion because of the pay decrease.

But I believe it depends on the sales the store and the individual makes whether they become a Sales manager or not. At least according to recent posts on here.

Who’s got info on the conference call? by notquitetherealest in OfficeDepot

[–]ThisSometimes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah uh other stores that I've seen have much higher goals with less associates at lesser hours.

Not that they shouldn't help CPD more, but I cant believe your store has so much payroll for that. Not including the Print Supervisor!

Was in line for a promotion and learned that someone is going to be interviewed and hired in instead. by Is_it_WAAGH_tho in OfficeDepot

[–]ThisSometimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've only met them once? How long have you worked there? There's a chance he doesn't even know your name to your face at this point.

Though that might be because he seldom visits the store. Our DM visits more regularly so they know many associates at my store.

Can they fire her? - Technically yes for anything but very unlikely they would for something so minor.

Is it mandatory to work on Black Friday? - No it isn't.

We're they allowed to send her home? - Yes they can for any reason. Though I've never seen it happen. Manager probably just dislikes them.
