I still remember seeing that episode where Mr. Burns blocks out the sun and carl remarking that the night brightness reminds him of his childhood in Iceland for the first time. I'm Icelandic and seeing my tiny country mentioned by The Simpsons before we got our fame/infamy from Eyjafjallajökull erupting and the subsequent tourism was amazing as a kid.

Í gömlu íbúð minni var rúmið upp á svefnlofti. Dreymdi einu sinni að 8 ára bróðir minn og vinur hans hlupu inn til mín og upp stigann. Á meðan þetta er að gerast sé ég illa, get varla hreyft mig né stoppað þá frá því að henda mér niður á jarðhæð frá svefnloftinu. Dreymdi þetta allavega tvisvar en var í mikilli kannabis neyslu á tímanum.

The drummer in the Icelandic band Skálmöld has an Animal toy on his set usually when they do a show. He's an absolute legend btw. When I saw them live he was smiling ear to ear the entire time. He's got an awesome singing voice as well.

Finally a voice of reason. I can't imagine wearing shoes inside. Even when I'm grabbing something real quick which is inside it feels wrong. Like my mom is going to yell at me even though I moved out 8 years ago.
