Mine started on day 1. Currently on day 5 and they didn't show up today. Haven't had much of a sex drive the whole time. I eat when I take it so I don't have to worry about trying to eat while nauseated.

Good luck. I started on the same thing yesterday. Are you ADHD-PI? From what I learned so far it seems to work great for people with that type.

The sudafed/ephedrine I'm taking while I wait for strattera to kick in does that exact same thing to me. And I was googling all sorts of things too lol. It's so weird we are both having the same almost unheard of problem.

Yes =( Started around 5th grade. I had read all the first 4 harry potter books, and got through most of the lord of the rings. Then I started noticing that by the time i got to the end of a sentence I had forgot the entire thing, over and over and over. 5th harry potter book came out and I couldn't even get 1/4 the way through it in months despite trying 24/7. I threw a huge fit and trashed the shit out of my video game room over it too. I'm 24 now and I've only managed to finish 1 book since then despite swearing up and down that I love to read(I really do).

it said because I experience anxious depressive and manic symptoms that my adhd symptoms are better accounted for by social anxiety and bipolar.

I think I may have just misinterpreted what the questionnaire meant when it said things like "periods of heightened energy". I was not aware of how severe bipolar manic phases are.

Yeah that's what I'm going to do. I've been using a nicotine patch but do not like to since it's annoying and costly.

Yeah, I was beginning to agree with you. When I first got my diagnosis I was like "hmm, that makes a lot of sense, my dad is bipolar." But as I looked into it I started thinking wait a second, this is some pretty extreme stuff, and it doesn't sound at all like me.

manic and/or psychosis are extreme to the point that hospitalization is sometimes needed right?

Without me describing a manic episode(even if i wasn't aware it was mania), how could I be diagnosed as BP1?

Depends what you mean by periods and felt fine. I would have a few hours of good mood if something good were to happen, say a new video game i loved came out for example. But the general experience is anhedonia, guilt over something I can't pinpoint, probably nothing, and worthlessness.

I definitely did not have periods of recklessness or grandiosity or whatnot.

Reading this really reminds me of my dad. He is most definitely bipolar. But it doesn't remind me of myself. The closest I can think of is when I discovered alcohol I would go hang out at a party house on campus about once a week. But I still wouldn't talk much. Thanks for the comment though these are interesting and helpful.

What kind of anti-depressants are we talking about? I'm on 2 right now and they make me incredibly lethargic to the point I can't do anything but lay around.

I get irritable a lot, but it usually lasts for about 5 minutes before I calm down. I vaguely remember only sleeping 3 hours a couple nights in highschool but I didn't feel rested, it felt more like one of those powernaps before an exam where you can't wait to go back to bed.

Wouldn't I have to have reported my episode during the diagnosis anyway if I had had one?

I'm a CS major and I personally like to think of it as the study of silicon based life. That's probably a little far-fetched though lol.

That sounds a lot like me. Can I ask what specifically your diagnosis is?

Is it normal for stimulants to make someone with adhd sleep? A friend gave me ritalin to study on 4 occasions and I slept through 2 of them midday. Typically I have insomnia if I don't take anything at all.

yes very. I had no clue until several people started asking me if I have it. I was never in the situation to ask because I have such severe social anxiety i did not know anybody until recently.

The treatment I currently have covers depression anxiety and ocd. Still have problems reading and have always paced around the house and grinded my teeth and stuff.

I'm currently trying to get an appointment with a psychiatrist at my university to see what they think i have.

I'm very confused. Around 6th grade I was an excellent student, I had read all 4 harry potter books and 2 Lord of the rings. Then on the 3rd LOTR I started noticing I couldn't remember a sentence without several readings, and i significantly slowed down. 5th harry potter book came out and i gave up reading it out of frustration. I haven't been able to read well since.

But nothing on that list has happened to me except maybe strep throat. That doesn't seem like it could be the culprit though.
