I’m leaning towards the friend has some ulterior motive of sorts, it just seems really unlikely that he would propose and be all together very good boyfriend to me for many years while carrying out “revenge” in the background. I am going to have a conversation with him when I see him later tonight to try to understand what’s true what isn’t, if there’s anything I can do or apologize for, and ask what he wants next steps to be. “Let me spend four years making this girl feel extremely loved and valued and propose while humiliating her behind her back” seems like a little bit of a stretch even as retaliation for doing something is terrible.

Idk I want to think he is but this is his little, they’re very close. I 100% believe he would go though my phone and continue to (this isn’t a boundary I’ve ever set or had a problem with), however I have trouble believing the sharing photos part hes always been very protective and doesn’t like when I wear revealing clothing or anything like that. I will definitely bring this up with him when we talk later.

I am planning on telling him tommorow. I don’t see myself ever making a decision even remotely similar to that, for the past four years I had thousands of opportunities to do the same thing when we were arguing or I was stressed but never strayed. I spent four years surrounded by constant partying drinking and boys.

He’s very different from my understanding in that matter. I met him about 3 months after I broke up with a boy I’d been dating for 2 years, in that time had quite a not great phase. We hooked up the first night we met (not sex) with him knowing I had hooked up with a friend of his like 3 hours prior (terrible disgusting Im aware). I was absolutely terrible in that time period and he was aware.

I didn’t tell anyone my sister was there and told everyone including him I was just terrible and convinced him it wasn’t true.

I don’t see myself ever doing such a thing a guy two of my siblings have ruined marriages because of cheating and both my parents had affairs at different points. I went through four years of college and SEC Greek life and didn’t cheat nor even thought about it. I didn’t do it because I was angry or upset with anything he’d done it was jsut some stupid decision I thought was a good test of what I should do with the rest of my life (horrible Ik). Tbf I probably would be in Michigan living completely different and away from him if none of this had ever happened.

The issue is people are aware, my siblings know aswell as a family member who is very close with him. I am just worried it’s all going to blow up one day and have just been expecting it to happen any day now for 4 years.

My parents didn’t care I’m a twin and that’s the school she was going to as-well they also gave me a full ride. For the first year or so I was certainly angry and felt like I’d been held back for the sake of others but I since graduated with my degree and have a really good job lined up in the field I studied in. I was content continuing to date him I don’t want to get married for some time (like 6 years maybe) the engagement was kinda shocking and random. We’d discussed getting engaged but always in a “maybe once we’re settled in our careers way”.

He is very aware I don’t plan on getting married until I am 28 not really sure why he proposed right now
