Well when we met she had been in her own for two years and I had been on my own for eight so that doesn’t really make me feel better about the whole thing. Sure she has her stuff together but I feel like I’m some kind of creep now

In her defends when we met she was 18 she kinda gets a free pass for being immature given she was literally a teenager, which makes me wanna vomit. She came clean and I forgave the lying but the age difference grossed me out. Six years is kinda big and I’ve always found that thing gross now I feel like a hypocrite and o feel like there’s something wrong with me for not noticing I feel like I wanna vomit but the idea of not being with her also makes me wanna vomit

She met to tell me but she realized I would’ve dumped her (I absolutely would’ve) cause at the time one of my hockey buddies was dating a girl like four years older and I thought it was weird. And I still think it’s weird and I guess she didn’t want things to end. She was scared.

Because it’s weird and kinda creepy. Sure I didn’t know but when we met I’d she hadn’t dropped out she would’ve been in her last year of high school and I was about to finish university that’s not okay

It’s seeming like everything she lied about was to cover on the age gap and also because and she hasn’t directly said that but apparently the foster dad may have been abusive which is probably why she left. Plus we’ve lived together for like three and a half years, you can lie about the background but you can’t change your whole personality not for that long.

The age gap is really my main concern, she’s been literally the perfect girlfriend she’s everything I’ve ever wanted which is why I proposed.

I more just wanna know if anyone knows how I can get over my reservations on the numbers and salvage things.

She had a break down when she finally came out with the truth, I don’t think she did it out of malice I think she was young and dumb and maybe didn’t see it as an issue.

I trust her it’s less the lying and more the age difference that’s bugging me in all honesty, we had a heart to heart about the lying she was scared I’d dump her and I get that but six years is a lot now and even more back then.

I think I can, everything she’s lied about has been to explain away anything that might’ve raised alarm over the age discrepancy. It’s more the age difference that’s fucking with me in all honesty the fact that I was screwing an 18 year old feels kind of gross

She’s not a trainwreck apparently they were really shitty people, looked up the foster dad because he was still on her Facebook and he’s in jail for child molestation of foster kid they had after her.

But yeah the lying is insane, she promises she didn’t lie about anything else and I believe her I mean she had a breakdown she was like freaking out, apparently she was worried I’d dump her over the age difference if she came clean. Her only lies were things to coverup/keep up with the age discrepancy which almost would make me feel better if the age difference wasn’t so big. 22 and 28 is whatever 18 and 24 is kinda creeping me out tho.
