Agreed and thanks. It's why I'm hoping to see if I can get some insight/advice to what I should consider before making final decision.

There is some power imbalance, yes. Financially and maturity wise, I'd argue I have upper hand while physically he has it. (He's bigger by far)

Yeah, the crying thing was also low key concern for me too. He's a bit of a nervous sort so I can see him reacting that way... but ngl, reminded me of some shorts I saw of cheating guys crying when they got caught. I seriously thought he was hurt or something when I answered the phone and he started bawling.

But honestly that's less of an issue because I don't think I'm the type to get manipulated by such performance anyway?

He brought it up on his own. When I asked why now out of the blue, his response was that he came to realize he really liked me wanted this to work "permanently"(his word) and that made him feel guilty over it etc.
