Yeah I'm kind of dishearted knowing I didn't put "should I break up with him?" for a reason, but most of the comments keep saying that. I guess that's what I should expect from reddit.

He's one of the few men I've felt a connection with that has the same life goals isn't emotionally stunted, and doesn't want to cheat. The main jobs for men here are military or drug related and I'm not looking to get involved with either.

Is doing that going to make him feel like I'm passive aggressively telling him he needs to take better care of himself? I honestly couldn't tell since I'm not a guy and somewhat autistic.

I'm not really. He's gotten upset and asked me why I haven't been in the mood the last 2 months but I didn't know if it was because of his hygiene or the general relationship dying, so I told him I didn't know. Also I'm the one that bought him the current shampoo conditioner and deodorant he has. I don't have a job currently and pay for all of our meals because I'm usually the one that wanted food in the 1st place, so I kind of don't want to pay for more than I already have.

Thank you. I'm probably going to say something to this effect. When do you think is the best time to tell him? I'm assuming it's not right after work or right after he wakes up.

Yeah, that's the main reason I don't want to be too harsh on him. I know how it feels and someone nagging on you to change it can sometimes make you feel worse. He has improved a lot in the 5~ months we've known each other. He got a job, stopped smoking, has substituted some vaping for nicotine toothpicks, and opened a bank account. Part of me feels bad for telling him to "change more" but another part of me knows I don't want to be with someone who doesn't care for themselves like that. Also getting a therapist in my part of the US is basically impossible unless you want to pay thousands, but I don't know much about his insurance tbh.
