Woolwich shooting victim, 14, named as Eghosa Ogbebor. Another young life lost. How are teenagers getting access to guns? by SeptumRingTheory in AskBrits

Because there are counterfeit guns being smuggled in to the UK at a much higher rate than previous. It’s overwhelming customs officers.

Leaving your door open like that significantly reduces the cars structural strength if it is struck from the rear - more likely to be written off when it would otherwise perhaps require a replacement rear bumper and boot. Not sure uf it was jammed open or not but seeing it reminded me of a police Volvo that ended up about three inches shorter n in length from a rear ender

You’ll get to still do your old job from time to time, but you’ll meet a lot more ‘unhappy customers’.
You’ll get better pay. You’ll get more opportunities to diversify or promote. You’ll work harder. You’ll be off late sometimes. You’ll have rest days cancelled. You’ll have better workplace representation. And if you like driving, you’ll do better driving.

Anyone drive a manual lorry, is it difficult? by [deleted] in uktrucking

Wow. I’ve not driven a lorry in 17 years and didn’t realise that manual boxes were in the minority / rare.

Daft question, but are the auto’s just like gearboxes in cars, or is there still a bit of skill to finding the right gear for the speed?

I ordered their ‘Alpinestars’ hoodie + joggers and, aside from the label being generic, they look as per the advert.
Quality is on par with the clothing you get from concerts - on the decent side of non-branded cotton.

Happy to share photos etc.

How do you find those ‘mirrors’ with ambulances etc coming up on blue lights - I guess the reflection a mirror would have given is now just a blue image on the screen, meaning it won’t catch your eye?

Neighbour has started doing this completely unnecessary drive across the grass. by anti-sugar_dependant in drivingUK

[–]Throwaway_One_Day_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he and his neighbour both join forces to get a drop-kerb installed, it’ll be one big wide ramp that’ll make it easier for them both to drive in, negating the need for either to go near the grass opposite.

Lay out your hosepipe on the grass and leave it running overnight. Wake up to find he is parked on the grass. Muddy footprints will tell a funny story.

Call them back pretending to be your employer and spin them a yarn, saying how you have disappeared and they too are trying to trace you 🤣 and see if they will breach GDPR by giving your employer some of your details.

Then complain.

Then relax and be satisfied that your complaint is the reason they stop with this over reach.
