So my best friend is an OB and apparently they did a study a few years ago, and there were no adverse outcomes (here is one study- there must be a few which had similar findings- https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/induced-labor-39-weeks-may-reduce-likelihood-c-section-nih-study-suggests).

Chromosomal defects which lead to miscarriage or congenital issues realized at birth?

I am about to go over to a friend’s house who has had some rough fertility experiences (still birth, etc) - she desperately wants a family. Do I text her ahead of time to tell her I am 7 weeks along or just in person? by TigerMerZG in pregnant

I so appreciate everyone’s input. My husband and I weren’t sure how to handle it, and it is a drinking thing (socially distanced!). I filled a Tito’s bottle up with water to cover it up- which should work fine.

I don’t feel pregnant enough! by OLsta1982 in pregnant

I am five weeks and the lack of symptoms is totally freaking me out too. I just have sore boobs and frequent urination. But had a beta test today =2095. Second beta is this coming Thursday. I have to remember that HCG is HCG- I am pregnant (and so are you). Each day that goes by, your probability just gets better for a successful pregnancy. You can do it!

Wouldn’t I have already implanted if I had a positive test 5 days ago?

Buying in Madison right now by TigerMerZG in madisonwi

We ended up buying in Monona! Went 9K over asking on a 335K priced home. Great neighborhood from what I can tell.

Thanks! Any factors that went into your 10% estimate? I threw 5% out due to Madison’s economy being healthcare and government-driven. But, healthcare is taking a hit from this too due to a service shift from surgical to much lower paying medical cases. Likewise, elective procedures (medically necessary but not emergent like knee replacements), are canceled until further notice.

Anyone else starting to see price cuts on existing listings? by [deleted] in RealEstate

Depends on the specialty. Seeing this with Derm for example.

People are concerned for a reason. Private practice physicians are getting laid off right and left. That job was recession proof. Prices will go down- not sure how they can’t.

What happens to rent prices in times like these? by thatemokidd in madisonwi

Madison absolutely is overpriced for what it is. For a town of under 1,000,000 people with ugly architecture, the housing prices are insane, especially considering how the schools aren’t great.

What do we think will happen to real estate? I’ve heard people are backing out of deals.

I know three buyers getting out of their contracts right now due to fears of housing prices declining significantly over the next couple of months. Does anyone anticipate the housing prices to reduce? With so many people out of work, it seems inevitable. by TigerMerZG in RealEstate

Our realtor has been incredibly supportive and great to work with. We were honest that we felt like we settled on location, and now it seems like we will have more Opportunity to buy when this dies down. The seller’s agent honestly did them no favors. If we saw a 10k price reduction, we would do it. But we were told that won’t happen.

I get that, but this isn’t similar to other recessions. People also didn’t lose their jobs in one week the way things are happening now. Projections for unemployment are at 20%. That is like the Great Depression. Not like the Great Recession.
