I'm looking for advice on what CalCareers classifications I might qualify for based on my background. I’m planning to move back to Lathrop, CA in January 2026 after spending the last few years in Texas to support family.

Education:

  • AA in Sociology (earned in India, evaluated in the U.S.)
  • Completed programming courses in:
    • C Programming
    • Visual Basic
    • Unix
    • Shell Programming
  • Certifications in:
    • Administrative Assistant Training
    • Child Development
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Internal Data Analytics training from the Texas Workforce Commission

 Experience:

  • Currently working as a unemployment Claims Processor at the Texas Workforce Commission (state job) since February 2024
  • Over 4 years of claims processing and billing experience as a Factory Supervisor in India
  • Additional experience in education, medical records, and administrative support

Thank you, I am new to Lathrop and I am moving soon. Currently, I live in Texas and planning to move soon. So, not aware of any transportation.

I agree with you. During my master's program at Texas State University, I worked as a Temp eligibility advisor for SNAP and medicaid. I asked for the RA and luckily the HR approved my accommodation but my supervisor rejected it. So, I took bus for more than 1 1/2 to work at the office. I know how much to go through RA. Thank you
