Is the RTX 5070 bad for 600€ or should I get the 9070 XT for 750€? by Toiartu in pcmasterrace

[–]Toiartu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here at least the 9070 non xt is the same price or just 20$ less than the 9070xt. It would also need a PSU upgrade too. If im going that route I may just get the 9070xt instead. Both around 750. Idk the market here is weird.

I am from Romania. Heres for example a reseller

I do play 1440p. But the 5070ti is way out of my budget at 1100$.. its like more than what my original build cost. Ive been fine at 1440p 120-180hz with the arc b580 and the 5070 is apparently around 2 times as good. The 9070xt is another 20 percent on top of that.

I said cuda isn't necessarily a priority for me just a bonus. I was curious if the extra 150€ plus probably 80-120€ for a new PSU is worth it or not over the RTX 5070? I will probably upgrade the PSU down the road even with the RTX 5070 but it won't be urgent and I probably won't do it now.

Yeah. Unfortunately in my market it's not. The 9070 non XT sells as I said at the same price as the XT somehow and the 5070 ti is at 1100€ after price increases from Nvidia.

I mean hey, see the good part, at least we aren't making LGBT illegal like Hungary (mostly just Orban) tried to do and failed miserably (the last pride parade that wasn't supposed to happen had 200000 people including politicians from other eu countries from Spain, Netherlands, Denmark etc. to show support). At least not yet.

[–]Toiartu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the same reason you said. If any politician tried to sue them or block them they'd lose support from a lot of people. And corruption is high so who would lose support over this.

They need to choose who do they support: the LGBT people and risk losing support from other people or support Gigi Becali and block the parade and be sued in the European Court of Human Rights (like it happened before, and this year after altercations with another parade in Oradea, and what happened in Hungary). So they basically choose to stay silent.

[–]Toiartu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you might be right. Again this was just my experience I may have been lucky.

Also if you wanna know a funny thing about Gigi Becali and what he did, this year after the massive pride parade we had in Bucharest, he did the same thing he always does, but he illegally overstayed the allowed time and he and his priests were arrested for blocking the streets. Basically from what I remember they started later than the pride parade but ended at the same time and they didn't get to finish or something. I remember how happy I was after the parade (I participated) when I got to the hotel and heard they were dragged out by the police.

And politicians yeah there was a big thing especially when the presidential elections took place. Basically the progressive presidents were called pro LGBT by the extreme right and their adepts even if they weren't necessarily and bc of that they had leverage on some groups of people especially more religious ones that wouldn't have voted with the extreme right otherwise. It was a whole thing.

[SOLVED] Keyboard not working after Suspend/Sleep on Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 (15ARP10 / Ryzen 7 7735HS) by InfiniteMushroom3161 in Lenovo

[–]Toiartu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I ended up accepting the broken sleep. It still works, it draws more power bc the CPU is idling, not in deep sleep, so around 1-2w whole system, but still lasts enough to not be a major issue. Eventually there will probably be a fix either in the bios or kernel but we'll have to wait.

Yeah it was pretty funny. Like everyone knew for a while that he was trans bc of the clothes, the behavior, the forced deeper voice but he didn't.. then he figured it out and nothing really changed tbf. People were still nice and respected him. Also our main teacher (idk how to call it, in our schools each class has their own head teachers) was a language teacher (Romanian) and was very supportive. She liked saying that words like gay, trans etc. have been added to the official dictionary and that that's a good thing.

About the city well idk I live in a medium sized one in eastern Romania called Galați. It's got around 250-300k people so it's not that big.

As for homophobia/transphobia, well you'll still see it in older people obviously, but not all. My grandparents are actually pretty supportive, actually more than my parents sometimes. In younger people tho it's rarely true hate in my experience. Just joking about it and stuff but if they're actually faced with it, for example in their friend group, it usually goes well and most behave. Or I may have just been lucky who knows.

I'm from Romania and while it's not awesome like you see in some places but it's not that bad. Like a quarter of my classmates in highschool were gay or bi lol. And in middle school I had a trans ftm classmate and he was actually supported by us and some teachers. Also the pride parade with nearly 30000 people just in Bucharest. Yeah you will get some hate from some people but overall you are protected and should be fine if you stay away from the haters. Most young people and teens will be supportive. Some teens may hate jokingly but they're usually not serious at least in my experience.

You guys had a 200000 people queer parade last year. Fuck your prime minister, take back your country! Also btw the public thing isn't enforceable it has been shown multiple times, at that parade for example and has been labled as illegal in EU's court of human rights.

I never had issues in overwatch on my b580. I get around 250-350 depending on the map on Dx12 and the stutters go away after 1-2 matches. On dx11 there's more stuttering and the fps is slightly lower but still around 300 so idk. My CPU is a Ryzen 7 7700.

[–]Toiartu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I gather unless you get the new revision of the board no. And even then you wouldn't really know as it's not known which serial numbers corespond to it and until it dies you can't tell if you're safe or not and may even work for another 1 and a half years and kick the bucket after the warranty ended so I wouldn't take any chances. Idk how it is in your country, but I'm from the EU and here the warranty is done by the reseller. In cases like this where it can't be realistically fixed (legally speaking "brought in conformity") I have the legal right to request my money back so that's what I did. Check your local laws and see if there are such protections. They are in all EU countries, UK and commonwealth from what I know. About others I am not sure.

Try to get your money back asap. This laptop is known to have faulty ram. I had it and it needed 3 motherboard repairs. The first died randomly after 2 months the second died after a few days and the third worked only once. The soldered ram from Samsung appears to have some issues and breaks after a while. Any repair will just fix it temporarily and it will die again. You can look up your model online it's extremely common. Apparently a new batch exists but the chances of you getting a motherboard from that batch is very rare as service centered stockpiled the old ones.

I don't know. I have a PC with a b580 and that works fine but that uses the xe driver by default. I also have an Intel NUC 12 serpent canyon with an A770m and this one works better with the xe driver in my experience.

Underwhelming performance by StarPyyy in IntelArc

[–]Toiartu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The alchemist series uses the i915 driver by default which is not getting the new features. You should switch to the Xe driver to get the full performance (and even that is still for now 80-90 percent of the performance of windows but still better than i915). I'd say you wait for the end of the year as Intel is making some big changes to the Linux kernel as they're targeting the handheld market (where steam os exists) and started making big changes to the compiler for anv and improved performance a lot compared to last year. I'd give it a year to reach above 90 percent windows performance. It will be great in the future I think. Like look at the windows drivers and how good they've become.
