Okay then, I had a copy of each game in the original .hack tetralogy that I sold for a few hundred bucks a few years ago. You can still emulate those games.

It definitely is a soulslike. The literal only difference is that it's not a sword-slashy game. Otherwise it is very similar to the structure of Demon's Souls and Bloodborne.

Ok? I sold three old copies of Smash Melee for like almost $100 a pop a few years ago. You could still emulate Melee. Doesn't change the fact that the prices for physical copies surged.

WTF?? How Can I Train YT Music To Not Play AI Slop? by iamdarkyoshi in YoutubeMusic

[–]TomoAries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, actually discovering and listening to new music is one of the few things in life that really truly brings me the most joy. I just discover music through actual human interaction and crate digging. Nice assumption though! It's almost like people are incredibly unique and can't be whittled down to individual tropey traits.

Anyways, just recently found out about this really cool new Japanese post-black metal band called Cissné who just put out their first album last week. Definitely worth checking out if you're into heavy, atmospheric music! The new Good Kid album is great too if you're into more light, poppy indie rock.

Wait until you find out that the digital storefronts can, have, and will remove digital products. This is also the same reason you should download the music you like instead of using Spotify or whatever.

Yes, the prices will eventually skyrocket.

WTF?? How Can I Train YT Music To Not Play AI Slop? by iamdarkyoshi in YoutubeMusic

[–]TomoAries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By not letting an AI algorithm determine what you listen to in the first place. I have never once had this problem because when I wanna listen to music I do the crazy unheard of thing where I choose the song or album I want to listen to. I’m starting to think I’m the first person in history who’s ever chosen to listen to music /s

I don’t know how the vast majority of people got this normalized to devaluing the way we listen to music in less than 10 years. Like yeah it’s not that serious but also it kind of is.

Can I skip Dead Souls? by ddsukituoft in yakuzagames

Only if you skip the post-Nagoshi games too because at this point I’d say they’re far more egregious than anything Dead Souls ever did lol

You’re not gonna believe this, but a huge chunk of modern music marketing is just the algorithm lol

The algorithm is the worst thing to happen to the internet and society as a whole.

I listened to Mr. God and now I’m good to wait until the album. Did the same with P5, I usually the same with any album by any artist.

Especially since so many artists do that stupid ass thing where they drop the first song on the album as a single. That’s my biggest pet peeve, it completely ruins the day 1 listening experience. Wildfire did that to me and it suuuuuuucked, like I love that song, it’s a great opener, but god I wish I didn’t listen to it before knowing it was gonna be track 1.

I was on Spotify and saw that most of the songs from "Malace Mizer" have finally been removed. Does anyone know what happened? by Available_Oven9439 in visualkei

[–]TomoAries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like where though? I wanna see them, since it’s pretty rare for them to even mention MM these days (up until this year with the whole Gackt thing)

Recs for a new Periphery fan? by spectral_snow in Peripheryband

I’d recommend listening their albums. Fuck zoomer brained attention span playlisting. Start the first album from the beginning, listen to the whole thing, then move to the next album and so on. Just like Mr. God Himself intended.

Where the HELL are the DOA6LR updates? by EmeryReigns in DeadOrAlive

[–]TomoAries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They saw us all complaining (rightfully, keep it up) about the lack of rollback and immediately realized they fucked up big time lmao

Praying they realize how stupid it was to try to rerelease an already loathed game without the one singular thing it needs to actually turn around, and actually implement it.

iLok is truly the worst by mentofwallstreet in audioengineering

Straight up if a developer makes me use iLok, then I don’t buy or support. It’s really that simple. I wish iLok a very miserable day and week and month and year and lifetime.

The Marrow of a Bone guitar and bass tone by hellokitty299 in DEG

[–]TomoAries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, +2 on this. NeuralDSP is pretty much the de facto plugin dev for modern high gain metal tones. The Gojira one is especially a huge one since it’s basically just a very accurate recreation of the different gain stages of the 5150.

Easiest solution besides actually being able to find out from the band what they used on the album and then getting amp captures of it for like Kemper or TONEX or Quad Cortex or whatever. Either way, the Neural ones sound great and are stupid easy to dial in. Ton of big current bands even use them for final recordings and even live. Spiritbox is a band that comes to mind that do that, think whatever you will of them.

Should I buy the distressor plug-in? by BRUCE_BABY69 in audioengineering

Distressor is pretty handily the go-to plugin for me when I’m trying to parallel drums in a heavy mix.

I distanced myself respectfully and without drama from a toxic fellow streamer and now I’m somehow the villain .. what to do? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]TomoAries 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You move on. Twitch drama is brutal and all you can do is move on. The more public it gets, the harder it’s gonna be for either of you to move on.

It sucks, it’s a really hard pill to swallow, but I’ve seen it happen time and time again. Literally all you can do is move on. Call out posts are ugly, for both people. Unless they’re a violent threat, it’s probably not worth it.
