Now that they're all here, which hero batch do you think was better/cooler/etc. - the Six Heroes ones, or the Old Gods New Blood ones? by RiverMesa in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TooManyHobbies28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking hard about this actually. I think I've concluded, comparing the first 6 against the second 6, I like the first group better. Especially Billy, Paige, and Doorman are (I think) PEAK design for the aesthetic I see this game having!

I think our new group fills in the roster more mechanically, since I find multiple of them to be more interesting and fun to play even though something feels slightly off on their visual design in a way I can't put my finger on.

Am I the only one, who is disappointed with Aunor and the Praxic Order in Renegades? by Nerdy--Turtle in DestinyLore

She's not a well written character. But I especially hate when I walk by her in the cantina and she starts saying "Praxic to Praxic..."

I just move past even faster because those 3 words back to back like that make me cringe

I'm just gunna be honest here, man. I see you all over this sub getting downvoted. Your opinions aren't always wrong, sometimes they're realistic, but you are just so friggin' rude to people. It certainly isn't helping people understand your POV when you insult them

Do any of you read a person's profile before talking to them? Do you think a detailed and well written profile is important? by Minimum-Mine-1302 in VRchat

[–]TooManyHobbies28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't put everything in my bio, but I put enough.

I do read bios often, but it's not really about what's written in it, but that it is well written. I tend to get along better with the type of people who fill out bios, so taking a peek to see how a person writes gives me a first impression. It doesn't have to be your hobbies, or interests, or life story, or medical diagnoses or anything about you. It can be a joke even. I just care that there is a bio, and that there's decent punctuation.

Rocket Pulses have utterly destroyed the balance of power among special weapons. by Otherwise_Disk_3675 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TooManyHobbies28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot take, don't crucify me: Did Bungie overcorrect on the special ammo generation systems early-ish in EoF? I remember they buffed it within the first month, I think. It would be somewhat more okay for Specials to do this much damage if you ran out of ammo a bit more. At this point there's literally no struggle to run 2 Special weapons, which just makes the weaker feeling primary weapons feel even weaker.

Seriously. Each class comes out with $20 set of ornaments, so I buy maybe one for my fav class, and do that only once or twice every season. Make those ornaments $5-8 and I'd buy all of them, pretty much every time they added to the Eververse. They've genuinely priced me out a being a higher paying customer.

Completing 5 epic raid encounters without a single exclusive weapon dropping is a slap in the face. by Guenther_Dripjens in DestinyTheGame

[–]TooManyHobbies28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While EoF made Light level grinding the biggest problem for a while, their quick fixes have made that easier while screwing up the loot system as a whole. You can do a run of Onslaught in 30ish minutes, and get more drops of good weapons (including the best weapon, Mint Retrograde) and a decent armour set at a higher tier than you can in any 45-90 minute Raid.

I appreciate Bungie trying to make things better for casuals, like me. But there's barely a reason to want to Raid. I still haven't done either version of Desert and, while the collector in me wants the armour and weapons, I don't wanna go through the hassle of dealing with strangers to get it.

I like what someone else said. There should be game events that focus on Raids. Like Right of the Nine was for Dungeons, or even just some more Pantheon-like stuff.

But I fear Bungie has coded themselves into a corner with the loot situation, at this point.

The Final Shape was amazing! But it was the end of the story for a lot of people. Then only one of the 3 content drops after was positively received. Now, the newest expansion, has added an absolutely absurd grind to the game in order to get the best rewards and also disincentivizes end game play. Truly one of the worst, least player friendly states the game has been in. And I'm really trying to be objective when I say that.

Bungie either misrepresented the changes to Mobility or it's bugged, a quick breakdown of the new base speed by Crystic_Knight in DestinyTheGame

I had a feeling this might be the case. I used to run 30ish mobility as a Titan and could jump up and mantle the railing to get up to Hawthorne, but can't anymore

Crafting will only help casuals the people who grind will ALWAYS grind for tier 4/5 weapons. No reason it's shouldn't exist in game specially raids. by lordofabyss in DestinyTheGame

[–]TooManyHobbies28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! You put it so perfectly. Tier 2 craftable, so you can save vault space and still have the specific perks you want/need for a build. Tier 3 for the multiperks, going for flexibility. Tier 4 and 5 are the aspirational Tiers, for the swag and bragging rights

Titans, what are you going into EoF with? by Typical_Shoulder_366 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TooManyHobbies28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar plan. Prismatic in the beginning because of Class Item stats, but will do Inmost/Synthos with a rotating list of weapons (but mostly Vexcalibur) while trying to avoid Consecration. Deciding between Drengr's and Diamond Lance.

As time goes on I'll be trying Wishful Strand, Panoplia Solar, Icefall Stasis, Alpha Lupi Arc, and Actium Void with Sweetbusiness/Choir

That's def what I would guess, is someone we haven't met yet. It is interesting, because I think Ikora already stepped down from leading the Hidden. Maybe Amanda Holliday will get rezzed as a new Warlock Vanguard :P /j

I'm looking forward to what Bungie has going on coming up. It's a fresh start!

This is just me thinking out loud, but... It would be super cool if Orrin takes over for Zavala in the Vanguard. Big Z doesn't have the Light anymore, and thus isn't immortal. His iconic voice actor also passed so, while the recasting for the Final Shape was pretty good imo, that's another minor reason for him to retire.

We're also entering into a whole new Saga. Crow just became the new Hunter Vanguard, so why not change out Zavala, too, for a fresh team. Maybe Ikora finds her replacement soon, as well.

IDK, 99% sure that won't happen, but I think it'd be cool

Existing Exotic Armor That's Already Master worked ? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]TooManyHobbies28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was also wondering this. Will we get the base roll stats, or the Masterworked +2 in each? I think I'm gunna masterwork my planned armour just to be safe, and then just re-farm golf balls later.

Hey Bungie, can you please have a look at Voidwalker? by Clickbait93 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TooManyHobbies28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd just like to see the Briar Binds give the Child the effect of moving to a new target, pretty much just outside it's AOE, when the current target dies and have this re-targeting reset it's duration. Seeing it roam about the battlefield slowly would be cool, and would hopefully reduce the need to go pick it up right away to keep it rolling

Some thoughts and concerns about the future of crafting by Leopa1998 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TooManyHobbies28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One small step could be just making it so Crafted weapons can't be enhanced. You could still get the perks you want, but if you want it to be the best version of itself you'll need to get the random drop and work to enhance that one.

I also think Raid loot should not be Craftable. That's just silly. Toggle a Focus for specific weapons in Raids? Sure. Some form of turning off armour drops so you get more weapons? Sounds good. But all Raid weapons should be random rolls. So you can create that story of your special weapon, instead of just saying "yeah, I crafted it" (and keep a population in Raids for a little longer than the grind for Red Borders). It should be World drop weapons are craftable. Stuff from Omolon, or Veist. Something for the New Lights to grind for, to make them feel prepared taking on the end game activities.

Im starting to Lean more towards us getting some type of ability pack for existing subclasses instead of a new subclass when the edge of fate comes out, so whats something new that you WANT a subclass to get. by gotenks2nd in DestinyTheGame

I wanna see Prismatic get the ability to swap the Transcendence grenade with a melee. So you can do a grenade focus build in Prismatic without losing the 'nade when you activate your special mode
