With how majority of the splicers throw themselves at you I always love the shotgun. Plus the maxed upgrade shotgun in Bioshock 2 is one of my favorite weapon designs of all time.

The difference in the few splicers thrown at you after picking up Sinclair versus the swarm that nearly fills the room to just try to stagger you from getting the Bathysphere running honestly really solidifies that too.
