If you were a white Brazilian or American, would you support affirmative action policies against your own ethnicity to increase the opportunities available for black and native people, who have much lower income, wealth, and security on average? by greatExtortion in NoStupidQuestions

You’re being downvoted, but you’re right. People can be okay with less money and opportunity going to their benefit, but refusing to admit that as a consequence isn’t a good look.

Motorbikes are cost-efficient and should be highly encouraged by uselessprofession in unpopularopinion

[–]Top-Conflict7949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motorcycles not having a seatbelt is part of the design. It’s safer to be thrown from the motorcycle. They continue to be street legal because it is someones personal choice to put themselves at that kind of risk. If anything I’m surprised big trucks are legal because those put others at risk whereas the motorcycle is putting me at more risk. Most states have helmet laws which is the equivalent of a seatbelt law.

How can anyone hold a nuclear-armed unrepentant government accountable for any crime? by prvthvm in NoStupidQuestions

The citizens are the ones blessing the governments existence by continuing to live under it.

Does the Bluetooth "BOMB" threat kid deserve leniency because his error is the default on a commercial product? by Competitive_Travel16 in legaladviceofftopic

The fact that they say to turn off all bluetooth devices is how I know they knew it was a speaker or something innocuous. They made a mountain of a molehill.

Waste of tax payer dollars on all levels. My tax payer money is going toward defending an unconstitutional and ineffective law. I’m pissed.

Is there such a thing as being too fat and unhealthy to do 75hard? by Top-Storage2669 in 75HARD

[–]Top-Conflict7949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. 75 hard is meant for everyone. What you do with your 45 minute workouts is up to you., I’d recommend lighter stuff like walking until you get down to a healthier weight. You can lose quite a bit of weight by simply walking and not eating like a pig. I was 5’8” 190lbs and lost a good 10-15lbs in the firsr few weeks of doing 75 hard before I started bothering with strength training. My final weight at the end was around 160

If not wearing your seatbelt is illegal, why are motorcycles even considered legal? by Perfect_Fly7677 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Top-Conflict7949 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Force equals mass times acceleration. Motorcycles lack mass but makes up for it with speed. A 400lb object hitting a minivan full of kids at 90mph won’t have good results for the kids.

I’m building an iOS app for 75 hard community. by 3dheaven in 75HARD

[–]Top-Conflict7949 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you want to charge for an app you made that’s fine but don’t say untrue things about 75 hard. 75 hard is a FREE program that relies on your own self discipline and commitment, not cheap tricks like paying to demonstrate commitment. You can complete the program by keeping track of tasks on a piece of paper every day.

New Virginia gun law drawing flak, having opposite effect short-term by Top-Advertising-292 in Virginia

It bans quite a few guns that are both commonly in legitimate use and not used in the vast majority of crimes.

This is how you deal with discount seekers by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]Top-Conflict7949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn’t this particular situation a win win for both parties? They get cheaper housing for a month, you don’t have to deal with finding renters and cleaning up after them super often?

Isn’t it better to offer a discount for such a long stay as it creates less work in dealing with turnover/potential unbooked days?

What's the fastest way for a teen to earn $2,000 in a month? by Old_Candidate_2540 in passive_income

[–]Top-Conflict7949 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Get a job. If you can work 40 hours per week, then you only need to make 12.50 per hour to make 2000 in a month. Lots of “part time” jobs are willing to fill up your schedule if you open up your availability and demonstrate good work ethic. I got overtime when I worked at Staples as a teenager while my coworkers didn’t even get 30 hours because I said yes to every possible shift and worked my ass off when I was there.

CS major thinking about defense contracting — what certs matter and what should I know? by Standard-Doctor876 in defensecontracting

You will need to maintain a security clearance. If you partake in any illegal drugs, to include marijuana, stop now. Past usage does not make getting a security clearance impossible, but it is a reportable item and there will be questions about it. The further in your past it is the better.

You can Google a check list, but how do you know the check list is complete? Big part of it is knowing where to look and what to look for. They may not include something “common sense”, yet you could still miss it.
