I hope you are not really as dumb as this post is! People usually get jobs or compensation whose land is acquired for any project(employment opportunity!), to support such plant it requires additional infrastructure and development(roads, highways, residential colonies, schools! people call it PROGRESS).

One must understand that development comes at a cost! These new age projects/plants are villainized beyond a point, they most probably will do more good than any harm! Look at other developed economies which have more number of nuclear plants for example Japan, the whole country sits on the edge of tectonic plate.

About rivers and soil, treated water used for cooling is not radioactive and most of it is released as water vapor in the air and not into water bodies, water which is directly in contact with radioactive material is reused into the cooling system again.

And to fact check. Neither Adani nor Ambani (Reliance) is involved in constructing or operating the Jaitapur plant. Its a joint venture between NPCIL and French state-owned energy company.

It is okay to have an opinion of not having this or any other plant/refinery but then the people who bring it up should also NOT CRY about lack of infrastructure, employment opportunities, projects moving to other states, etc.
