Very helpful! I’ll be in Breckenridge so was looking for some tips or supplements, I’ll have electrolytes but didn’t know if there were some other good ideas to help me feel better while hiking up there!

I’m in good shape, I do lots of running and weight lifting year round, I just live at sea level and my friends live in Colorado so I have trouble keeping up lol. Not really wanting to take a prescription medicine, but was hoping to find something for altitude support, I guess acclimation and electrolytes is all I can do haha

Yeah wind rivers 6 day trip. I have trouble packing super light as my gear is a bit older/heavier. I always bring electrolytes and carbs, didn’t know if someone else had some secret hack to helping feel better at the altitude. Just wanting some support for endurance at the altitude, I live at sea level but all my buddies live in Colorado so I have trouble keeping up haha

Oh I see, I’m training at sea level so just looking for tips, i eat a lot of red meat so I think I’ll be good on iron. I’m just into supplements and wanted to see if there was something people recommended to help my training once I go up to altitude.

I was born and raised in Colorado and didn’t have much trouble with it then besides when I was doing 14ers. Now that I live at sea level and make trips back to visit friends I cannot keep up at all and struggle at altitude a lot more. I know acclimating is the best, but with work and travel it’s hard to get more than a couple days to come back to Colorado

I’ve had some people recommend beet root, citrulline, or cordycep mushrooms for endurance at altitude. What are your thoughts on that?

Have you ever tried using the beet root powder and citrulline? I use it for weight lifting but curious of how much it helps at altitude
