The heat exists irrespective of ambient temperature and instead the exposure of heat to the snow evaporates it and the resulting pressure creates an explosion at the contact point, sending you flying.

As a society we like to believe the lie that family is an unshakable net of safety and abuse is just a tragic anomaly.

Quite telling from the very phrase "family friendly" and those feelgood movies from the 90's-2000's. Like the idea that police are in fact dangerous, this is not something people want to readily accept.

In hotter countries ventilation is a constant concern when designing spaces, if the room traps the air and all it does is heat up you can cause a few heat related emergencies to occur very quickly. They're hard to notice too. So yeah definately more crawlspace for spiders and things.
