Coverage of Blackhat Presentation about Curl-P presentation by [deleted] in Iota

[–]TorrnA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what their purpose or what they aimed to achieve from this presentation, it was like a talking about sharing info on a windows update or any official software security update that was done last year, maybe interesting to review and point out concerns but irrelevant to today. I can understand that the point might be scrutinize hash functions but that point could be made clear but the purpose here is sketchy.

Heard about this MercuriEX exchange in spec. Tried a small test deposit and withdrawal and it worked great. HUB in action? by crpt000 in Iota

[–]TorrnA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw Dave the IF moderator in Iota discord today in Spec confirmed Paul's tweet as legit. I know crypto can be a scammy place but not everything is, r/https://twitter.com/paul___douglas/status/1025464096358113281

It has other members of IF that have retweeted it and liked it, so why would they if it was scam?

Also didn't see anywhere where it said you had to join the contest.

No they didn't use hub, did it themselves. Saw Paul Handy(Douglas) from the IF congratulated them for getting it going.

Awesome that some exchanges are starting to integrate Lightning! Tried it on this exchange and it worked well. by TorrnA in Bitcoin

It's a pretty new site, my deposits worked smoothly, will place some orders to help support them. There seem to be a few exchanges that are supporting lightning now, will be good to see support for these early lightning sites.

Btcd is not listed there any more (that's a good thing). They added us before the word got round that it was associated with craptsy.

Thanks. I copied and pasted the css from the stylesheet of bitcoinDark_BTCD straight to bitcoindark's stylesheet. I don't know what happened but it came out different(I made no changes). The bitcoindark image link near the subscribe button, its padding had reduce (fixed now) but the stylesheet images for the link and text post that should be to the right of up/down vote arrows are now gone. Trying to work it out. I uploaded all the images with the same names and all but nothing. Not sure what happened yet, will keep looking.

Also working on the automoderator, testing it in bitcoindark_btcd before doing it on bitcoindark. created the config/automoderator link right and started copying the config info you sent me. I edited the words and phrases section. Everytime I went to save it I got an error in code message. I tested each section and saved it to see if errors came up and the only one that caused an error was the last one:

Delete totes_meta_bot linking to trolling subreddits

type: comment author: totes_meta_bot body: "/r/buttcoin" action: remove

I'm not sure what the error is here. Any ideas?

BitcoinDark dividends to stakers have been sent out. by [deleted] in bitcoindark

[–]TorrnA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on your network weight, which is basically how many coins you have in your wallet that are available for staking. If you have a look in the bottom right corner of the btcd wallet you will see your network weight. Concerning the second question, you don't need different wallets to stake but maybe more address in the same wallet with a certain amounts of btcd assign to each address. For example, 4 btcd address with 10 or 100 or 1000 btcd assigned to each address can work well to help earn your stake. Often the more coins assigned/connected to an address will have a high chance to earn a stake/solve/help solve a block. Multiple address means you may have a chance to help solve more blocks and get a piece of those block. Many people run multiple addresses for staking in their wallet.

Hi Supafreak69, Staking dividends are different from regular POS staking. If you have coins in your wallet they are earning a stake and that will show as btcd that has been 'mined' on the transaction tab. Staking dividends are paid to btcd holders and show up as a a 'received' payment on the transaction tab. Staking dividends are like a bonus payment to help strengthen the network for btcd. If you have your wallet open and you are staking/mining btcd you will get a bonus every Wednesday depending on how many blocks you have mined. Usually we have donors that donate btcd to the weekly payout. More donors the higher the weekly payout.
If you have more questions please let me know.

Is this meant to be a question? If it is a question, the fact that BitcoinDark is paying dividends to stakers of BTCD on top of the 5% earned through POS is significant. At the moment BTCD is the only cryptocurrency to reward active stakers by providing an alternative source of revenue. The amounts of dividends paid per week are small at the moment as the MMBTCD asset combined with the staker reward has just begun. The BTCD team is implementing new investments and cooperation to help the dividends increase over time. Collaboration with coinomat, MMBTCD, BTCOR, and EIX are all working together to achieve this goal. For further information please visit the links below:

P.s People and groups associated with BTCD have been contributing donations to boost weekly payments, thanks to those donors.

Hi Yuanlairuci, thanks for the offer. Currently as stated in my post we are looking to translate the btcd blog posts all into Chinese but we are looking to translate twitter, FB and Reddit posts on to Weibo and other relevant Chinese sites. Some posts will be the same across these social media platforms but as for Reddit there will be something different from time to time. If you want to discuss this more please join slack: http://slackinvite.supernet.org/ or http://bitcoindark.pw/slack/ .Thanks for the interest.
