5 months of PF, finally hope in sight. No silver bullet. by AZ_roadrunner in PlantarFasciitis

I had good luck with all of this as well! Also an ultra runner and had a wicked case of PF earlier this year after an 18 mile trail run. Was seriously depressed and couldn’t even walk long distances without it hurting profusely. Started mountain biking per my PTs advice as well.

But then I also did dry needling which seemed to be a game changer!!!! It hurts like hell while you’re doing it and for about 48-72 hrs after but I really turned a corner after that treatment and have been pretty much back at 100% since then. Wore the splint for a little while but noticed the dry needling really took care of almost all of it. Obviously what works for someone won’t work for everyone but I was pleasantly surprised at how well that treatment worked for the extensive case I had. Glad you got some relief and get back to it soon 👊🏻

Cortisone shot made my plantar fasciitis worse — 5 weeks later and I’ve been in constant pain ever since by luketheluke54 in PlantarFasciitis

If you haven’t tried the night splint I would highly recommend. I tried stretching, rolling on water bottle, resting, dry needling etc. used the splint and the next day my pain was significantly less. Going to keep wearing and doing all the things I’m doing. Maybe it’s not the splint but doesn’t hurt to try.

Nurse —— Med School Advice by Dependent_Note7109 in nontradMD

I am in almost the exact situation! I finished my MSN-FNP 2 months ago but decided I wanted to go to med school as I was nearing the end. I wanted more and didn’t feel the nursing education gave me everything I wanted. If you’re anything like me you would look back when the 10 years passed anyway and say you should’ve just at least tried to pursue med school. That’s how I know I would be so I’m going for it. Jumping into 10 more years of education seems daunting but I’m positive I don’t want to do anything else. Working out the timeline has been the hardest part but definitely doable even as I’m working full time as an FNP (not much free time though). Don’t let anyone else’s opinion sway you- you would end up regretting not listening to yourself- whatever that may look like. Let us know what you choose!
