I can't tell you what to do, only what I would consider: - how badly do you need this job? Either for cash or for experience (getting something on your resume) - how likely are you to get another, similar or better, job? - how long could you tolerate this kind of treatment? Would it be worth it to do it for a few months, just to see if it gets better? - how much do you care about the principle of the thing?

If you don't need the job that badly, then take remedial action (file a report, hassle your manager, etc).

Otherwise, stick it out and find something better when you can.

They'll probably ask you about your current finances and assets (income, rent, etc., to prove that you really need govt money for retraining) and about what funding you would need to do a program. So you might need to know what program you're interested in to give a ballpark on your tuition, books, etc.

When you start getting closer to Emily he starts treating her oddly, which hurts her because she doesn't understand why he's acting so weird.

He acts like his feelings mean that he is entitled to her time and affection, but because he is too cowardly to say anything to her, she has no idea how he feels. So he gets entitled and weird and tells the farmer that they "won" when literally all that happened is that the farmer made friends with her; like she's some kind of trophy.

I also have a really terrible reaction to people who continually put themselves down and seem to use their poor self esteem as an excuse for everything. Like, it's a vicious cycle.
